I am arriving friday and every weather reports shows t-storms right through monday. Does this mean a brief t-storm and the rest of the day is normal sunny weather, or is this an extended period of lousy beach weather

Jamaica is a tropical island. For it to stay so lush and green it needs showers. If you looked at the forecast for the entire year it would show showers everyday of the year. In the mountains of Jamaica they can have downpours of rain nearly everyday, but along the shoreline showers are brief. Just a few minutes to an hour at the most. No need to be concerned, you will have plenty of sunshine.
