Nature happened. Its nothing to worry about, especially for May.
The long story: There was a prolonged episode of very rough seas that battered the beach at CTI, changing the size and shape the the beach. If you look at http://www.couplesjamaica.biz/mb/showthread.php?t=6277 you can see some pictures of the beach, most specifically when it happened, and also, some pictures from 2005 (under Crabracers post) of one of the last times it happened. The lesson from 2005, within two months the beach was back to normal.
The good news is that this is, while disappointing in the very short term, a normal process, and that reports coming back from the resort, and even some more recent pictures show that the beach is indeed, returning to its normal state.
We will be returning in 22 days, and I have to tell you that I have NO WORRIES. There is still a beach, there is no shortage of sun, and with two pools, plenty of places to get some of that sun.
