Ok...we need a huge master list of the most amazing Reggae vibes, Island tunes that can turn the ugliest day into a Jamaican sunshiny day.... Is "Sunshiny" a word???

I'll start the list with just a few of my favs....

"Strength of a Woman" - Shaggy
"Say Hey I Love You" - Michael Franti and Spearhead
    "Reggae Ambassador" - Third World

My absolute fav that can make the worst day disapper in the first note and first word, give it a try.

    Tyrone Taylor......."Cottage in Negril"

"Too Much Pressure" by The Selecter.

Ok, it's more ska than reggae. And it's about....well, too much pressure. But dang if it don't make you wanna bop till ya drop!

Reading is fundamental. It's just that for some, it's more mental than fun.

I really like "3 Little Birds" by Bob Marley. Enough that it will be played at our wedding this Saturday.

    Default Tarrus Riley!!!

You need to check out "She's Royal" by Tarrus Riley (Single-not on his album) and the album "Contagious" by him is excellent. Everyone who I play the CD for loves it!!!

So many songs... I can't pick. Different songs fit my different Jamaica moods. But...

The best bang for your buck on iTunes: Bob Marley - The Anthology. 45 of his early songs for $9.99.

The Dub-Star All-Stars dubbed reggae version of Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon always makes me chuckle. It is realy quite good.

Baby I Love Your Way-Big Mountain (Peter Frampton Cover)
Sea of Love -Israel Kamakawiwo'ole (Honey Drippers Cover)
This is a little more Hawaiian but, the Honey Drippers version was the song for our first dance at our wedding. Love It!

UB40 has some great Reggae song selections. Some are classic songs remade with a Reggae beat. Listen to their version of Red, Red Wine and I Got You Babe!!

My favorite UB40 songs: Don't Blame Me (which reminds me of the house band at CSS) and It's My Delight

Karen Smith is the best singer on the planet. We saw her twice at CN, but she may be too big to get there again.
