Where did the beach go at CSA?
Looking at some of the screen savers posted where did the beach go at CSA the tree is way down toward the water now. What happened is this a naturally occurring phenomena? Can someone enlighten me?

The beach has erroded more since we were there in 2010, 2012 and this past January 2013. With the beach being longer as opposed to deeper, there is always plenty of room to accommodate chairs. It just looked prettier when there was more beach area. Hopefully there won't be much more errosion occuring.

Mother nature is in one of her re-arranging of the house moods. Every so often she likes to stir the pot, throw a hurricane or two in, and lots of wind and wave action just to change things up a bit. After a while, she slowly restores it back to the way it was. She is letting someone or something else enjoy the sand for a while, but don't worry at some point and time she will replace it. Its all good mon.

Hurricanes of the last few years. It was pretty deep in December again, much more sand than last year.

It changes every time we go. One reason I like the newer side of the property is because the beach is always bigger there compared to up near the north side where the beach actually comes all the way up to the security hut. Down on the south end where the Barry's Bar tree is usually has twice the beach area and fills in quicker after erosion occurs.

We were there in 2010 and the beach was huge. In 2011 it was cut away by 2 hurricanes with the water sport shed almost in the water and a couple palm trees by Seagrapes sandbagged to keep them up. In 2012 a lot of sand was back on both the north and south ends with the middle section still a bit narrow. The water sports shed was now a good 50-60 feet back from the water's edge. Going back this April and expect to see a beach that I love no matter how wide or narrow. Mother nature moves the sand around but it never fully leaves. If it is not on the beach it is out in the water waiting to come back. Don't stress over this. Just enjoy! It's Jamaica mon.

We go twice a year; April and October. There's definitely a deeper beach in April. It's all weather related. This past October (thanks to Sandy) we had very little/no beach post-storm and what WAS there had tons of seaweed. Depends on the time of the year, but bar-none it's the most beautiful beach on the planet ANY time you go!
