I know you have gotten several other responses, but I wanted to add my two cents. My hubby and I are not world travelers by any means but in the 20 years we have been married we have been to Hawaii twice, Mexico twice, cruised Mexico once and been to Jamaica twice (CN and CSS). This year we will celebrate our 20th anniversary and since we had enough airmiles to go anywhere in the US, Mexico or the Caribbean, we figured we could afford to spend more on our hotel. We looked for months and could not find anything that even compared to Couples. Since we have been to Couples even though we would like to go somewhere else, there is just nothing that offers everything Couples offers and then delivers every single thing they promise and more. You will not be sorry if you book Couples. It will definitely be a honeymoon to remember!!!

We have been to resorts in Puerto Vallarta and Cabo and Punta Cana; and once we found Couples Negril we fell in love with the resort. We will be returning in January2013 for our 3rd year in a row. We typically only go for 7 nights; however we went for 9 this past January and we are now planning on 10 for 2013. We just can't get enough of this resort!

We've been to several other islands & to Jamaica 10X ... Our first 3 trips to Jamaica were to other AI's including the "S" resort in Negril twice .... Then we found Couples & that's been it for us ..... We found our PARADISE. We've never felt the need to go to another island or to another resort again ..... We've been to CSA 1X - CSS 1X - CN 5X with trip #6 booked. The other resorts were OK & we had fun but not even close to what we found at Couples .... Especially CN. The other resorts may offer some extra glitz & glamour that Couples doesn't but Couples offers you a feeling that I can't even describe .... "Once you go You know" sums it up.

We have been to CSA several times and just booked today to return for "I think" the 6th time. Two trips ago, we met a couple who went to a "S" resort for their honeymoon and had repeated EVERY year for over 24 years....until that trip. We asked they "why" they changed and they said people at the airport on their last trip were talking about how wonderful CSA was, so they thought..why not? When we ran into them at the end of the week, we asked...well??? thoughts??? and they said.."We will NEVER return to "S" after being here. We will now return here!!! Says a lot I think

    Default Other AI's

In the last three years we have been to 3 different AI's, Panama, Cancun and Punta Cana. Of course these are only one time stays at each and two of the three were very large resorts. No where have we ever rec'd the service and smiles we get at Couples. While the food at the Punta Cana resort was very good, and the people there did try to be helpful and accomodating, the language barrier there was an issue. While there are a lot of other places to go and other resorts to try, most have a longer and usually much more expensive air fare, plus we know what we are going to get when we come home almost every year. Come on May, only 74 more days to paradise!!!!

We honeymooned at Couples OR, and vacationed there 3 more times before going to other resorts. The rennovations are what brings us back this year. If you have specific questions about any resort we have been to (see signature list), feel free to ask. All resorts have seasons...we have seen some great ones fall by the wayside, and others do what is necessary to continue as a leader...Couples TI did such a thing a few years back. Other Jamaican resorts (and even some in Mexico) refuse to keep up and spend capital on facilities...many are not open today.

We have stayed at resorts in St. Maarten and the Bahamas as well as various resorts in the U.S. We have been going to Jamaica since 2005 and have only once stayed at a non-Couples resort there, which was back in 2008 when we had to relocate at the last minute due to an unexpected early CTI close down prior to its renovations. We had great experiences at these other resorts and we even thought that there were some individual things at these resorts that were better than Couples, but Couples wins hand down for the best overall experience.

We continue to go back to Couples year after year for a few major reasons. First is Jamaica itself. It is a fascinating beautiful place, and the Jamaicans are the most friendliest people you will ever meet. You would be hard pressed to find one who doesn't give you a big smile while greeting you and instantly making you feel welcomed to their country.

Second is Couples' service/food/inclusions. I think Couples hires the best of the best that Jamaica offers. They have employees that will call you by your name after not seeing you for a couple of years. The food and drinks are outstanding. This is definitely not the ideal place to hold a weight-watchers convention! And the inclusions allow you to either plan lots of things in advance if you are a busy-body or spontaneously take things as they come if you prefer to be more laid-back.

Third is variety. Couples has 4 resorts to choose from that are unique in their own way. They each have a different feel to them, so you could rotate between different Couples resorts and get a totally different experience without sacrificing Couples' top-notch service. We prefer alternating between CTI and CN which allows us to also experience different areas of Jamaica as well.

We call CSA our "Adult Disney" because it is so awesome for us. But, if the future Mrs Calabrese is looking for more of the marble & fountains, she may not enjoy the laid back Couples vibe....just a thought....make sure to do your research so your honeymoon is just right for you (and try to steer your honey to Couples)!!!

Here is how we know that Couples is the right place for us. No matter where we travel, if it's not at Couples, we are always comparing the trip to our past stays at Couples. Couples is the benchmark by which all other vacations are measured. We've enjoyed many a trip, but none have measured up to our stays with the Couples family.

Ditto for us! I couldn't have said it better. Number 15 trip to Couples in 8 days

While each of these places and resorts were all nice with their own pros and cons I must say that while on Jamaica Couples is the place to be for the BEST of the Best.

The S resort you are simply paying for their marketing department.

Couples Resorts were the ONLY beach resorts on Jamaica that were in the top 10, let along the top 100 in Travel and Leisure Magazines Worlds Best in the Caribbean for 2011. The only other resort on Jamaica to make the top 100 was The Caves on the Cliffs. NO S made the list.

Recently Couples Tower Isle was voted #7 in the WORLD by Yahoo Travel.

There is no way in Hades I would ever get suckered into a stay at any "footwear" resort ever again.

There is a review for their Whitehouse property that states they made all the guests leave an area of one of the "villages" so they could film a commercial. They brought in all new loungers, towels and props for 3 days. No compensation was given for displacing these guests.

When you visit a Couples resort what you see in the advertisements are what you see at the resort right down to the same flowering plants in the rooms. Couples does not spend millions and millions on commercials or ad campaigns. They reinvest their money into the properties and the customer experience.

This is of course just my opinion and my experience from 25+ years of traveling experience and marketing background.

We've been to several other all-inclusives on several Caribbean islands in 24 years of travel, and we've settled on CSA and CSS ever since 2007....in fact we're leaving for CSA on this weekend. Couples gets it. In terms of decor and overall vibe, it's just much more of a true "island" experience than for example the S resorts. I'm not knocking them.....you are likely to have a good time at one. I just like Couples better. The staff at Couples is nicer too, in our opinion.

We have trip #6 booked for CTI in July. Prior to finding CTI and during renovations, we stayed at several other resorts in Jamaica and one in Hawaii, including the footwear resort. Nothing compares. The other were nice, but the staff and food as well as the other guests we meet are the reasons we keep returning to CTI. At the footwear resort, unless you pay for Butler or Concierge service, you will be excluded and even bumped from reservations. At Couples, the level of room you book makes no difference, you receive the same quality of service.

Mr. Callabrese, Try to look at it this way: You can go to a Couples Resort while you are just that... a couple. You can't take your kids with you. Why not experience Couples while you can. If you are planning on having children You can always bring them to an all inclusive (family friendly) S-resort later.

We have been to several "S" resorts including Montego Bay and St. Lucia. Also resorts in Mexico, Bahamas, and Punta Cana. While we loved the S resorts (especially St. Lucia), we did begin to experience the "tier" system. We had a lower level room and were more limited in ability to make restaurant reservations. There are lounge chairs specifically reserved for certain room categories. We could have remedied this by choosing a hire room level but, honestly, I just don't like the principle. I now understand why people return over and over to Couples. We just returned from our 2nd trip to CN (bringing friends to share it with because we liked it so much). We continued to be impressed with the food, the activities, and most importantly, the genuine friendliness and service of the entire hospitality team. Both resort chains are excellent but we will be returning to Couples. It's perfect for us.

There is one simple answer to the original posters question...... YES and dont bother trying to find somewhere else! It is an exercise in futility, guaranteed to give you a headache!
We made the horrible mistake of going somewhere else this year and will regret if forever. Everytime a commercial comes on television, we see an article in the newspaper or anyone says anything in Spanish my husband declares us "haunted by Mexico!!!"
We went to an adults only 5 star, 6 apple, rave reviews on TA resort and all we can say is it wasnt Couples!
We dont remember a single staff member by name and we were known as "room 4223" for the entire 10 days. Check out took 30 seconds, no word of a lie, and no one asked if we had a good time.
We cannot wait to go "home" to Couples next January!!!
The only drawback I can think of is you don't want Couples to be your first all inclusive experience. You will be spoiled, think it is normal and never really understand how special it is. You need to pay your dues at the other resorts like the rest of us did. Just kidding of course but it really is unfair......

I have a honeymoon booked at an S resort that is way down the south coast. However, I have since found out about Couples and am pretty sure I am going to switch to CN or CSA. I really like the fact that everyone gets equal treatment at Couples.
