Wines available at CN?

Hi, we're booked for Nov at CN and I was wondering if anyone knows what wines are available there. My wife is a picky drinker and I was hoping to find out ahead of time what we could expect. Since were on the subject is Red Strip the only beer available there? I'm picky too but I'll get by. Has anyone ever heard of shipping something to the resort a few days before arrival to consume during your stay? If so, how did it work out.

The house wines that Couples provides are good to most people. They are made in France and the USA from what I remember. It is hard to give an answer on the name because they fill you glass up and take the bottle. They will come back and refill are required.

At CN they offer better wines that you can purchase from their reserve list.

If you want to bring you own, pack it in you checked baggage.

Shipping wine and other goods to a country outside the USA is not easy. Jamaica may require an import license depending on the amount. You would have to pick you package up at customs and pay the duty. Not worth all that work and lost time of your vacation.

I think your best bet is to try the wines at CN, if you do not like them, then purchase from their reserve list or find a wine store in Negril.

As for beer: Red Stripe and Miller lite are the standard.

This year at CTI in the piano bar they Guinness, Heineken (Made in Jamaica), Red Stripe, Red Stripe light, Miller lite, and others.

I'm not sure about the wine available as this is our first time to Couples. However, we have been to Jamaica before and the Red Stripe is delicious....and the fact that it is in the stubby bottles is very nostalgic..we're from Canada and 25 years ago, all beer was in the stubby bottle. And of course, you can't go wrong with Jamaican rum...

We just returned from CN. The wines that you can have delivered to your room were from Chile. They were Cabernet, Rose, and Chardonnay. The beer choices were Red Stripe, Red Stripe Lite,Miller Lite, and Caribe.

our first trip I packed a case of Bass Ale , Gary the Manager at the time, was from England and I think he enjoyed the 6 pack I gave him , if he got it ( That wasn't a tip) but I have since learned to love Red stripe
if they do not have what you want for beer go to the gas station across the street and get some

They generally pour Chilean Chardonnay and Merlot and a sparkling wine that is okay. But they allow us to bring our own bottle to the restaurants and happily pour it for us.

Is it really that pour in quality? I hate to pack wine with the cost to check overweight luggage and since I am the only one who drinks it.
