Hello everyone! Just wondering who has all done the YS Falls trip? Would you recommend it? We are returning to CSA in October for 6 days/7 nights and we booked that excursion, so wanted to hear some thoughts on it...if its worth it, etc. Thanks!!

Just YS Falls, or the combo with Appleton and Black River?
YS Falls & Black River. Didn't say anything about Appleton.
if your just looking for falls Mayfield is closer only about 40minutes off of CSA and weve done it three times its awesome. YS should be combined with black river, and or pelican bar etc... since its further away

YSFalls and Mayfield Falls are both worth the trip... but they are NOT similar experiences, in the least. YSFalls is a quick and very dramatic cascade of consecutive falls. Mayfield is a nature hike up the river from low to high, and was far more interactive, in our opinion.
Both are beautiful!

We just did YS Falls and the Pelican bar last week - an awesome off site day. We hired a private driver (around $200 for the day including admission to the falls, plus tip). We left CN at 8am and returned around 4pm. YS Falls is beautiful and we did the rope swing into the falls. They also have a zip line, but we hadn't brought enough extra cash for that ( I think is was $42 pp). Pelican bar is not to be missed, so much fun to see. We also had ordered a lunch ahead of time and that was great as well.
We are also looking to do an excursion that includes YS falls and appleton rum factory. Cant find any info on the exursions. Where can you find this information?
When we went in 2007, lunch was included at this little restaurant right next to the dock where the safari boat launched from. They served us a jerk chicken plate with a couple sides and bottled water. You could buy beers and other stuff, if you wanted. The trip makes for a fun, long day. Appleton is at the end, so it's nice to drink up at the sample table before you head back. Lots of rum and rum cream to try!
Chris & Danielle -
The tour can be booked through the tour desk at your resort (SweptAway or CN); or you can search online for any of a number of tour operators in the Negril area (not allowed to post them here).

We booked the Black River Safari / Y.S. Falls / Appleton tour in March. '11. It was a blast had a great time. We booked it right from the tour desk at CN. and it was $110. U.S. per person. We had to buy our own lunch and i think it was about $ 15 or so.
This is a very true statement. They are very different and very different experiences.
We did YS with The Pelican Bar and Black River. We did Mayfield with a trip to a local farm.
YS is simply beautiful ! They had tubes and rope swings, and have since added a zipline.
Mayfield is a riverwalk, smaller cascading falls, you are "IN" the water the entire time with natural jacuzzi's etc.
So it is all in what you are looking for.
