Hello Ladies!

My special day (and week long vacation at CTI) is over.. :-( So wish we were back there. Married April 5th at 4pm at CTI

So here was the good/bad/and ugly of our trip.

Sunday we arrived thinking we'd meet with the wedding coordinator but she doesn't work on Sundays. So we were never given a time to meet with her. Monday we were told to just knock on her door so unfortunatly she wasn't completely prepared for us. I am incredibly detail orriented so it flustered me quite a bit that she didn't have any of our information ready. So I was anxious until the day of the wedding/ Tuesday.

Tuesday (wedding day!) it was windy and looked like rain. The hair salon did a beautiful job on my hair, though the ladies didn't speak the whole time to me or each other. But it turned out perfect and they made sure not a strand would move in the big wind.

Digital Memories was prompt and took A TON of pictures. They stayed with me the whole time I got ready with my family and kept shooting pictures and video the whole time. Then stayed well after the ceremony to do pics of me and groom. We got a total of 3-3.5 hours with them. I love every single picture they took (over 400 of them) and the video and slide show they created for us.

All my fears of missing details faded when my dad walked me down the isle to my groom. The arch was perfect, the whole area was beautiful. The rain held off the whole ceremony and cake cutting. The cake was awsome! We did one tier rum cake, one tier white cake: both yummy. The officiant was wonderful and read my sand ceremony speach I had brought. He did a wonderful christian ceremony, he had asked my groom if we were religious. Everything moved smoothly and I didn't even notice all the little perfect details until looking at pictures after, I just remembered my grooms eyes. 8 Rivers was perfect for our reception and the evening activity was a live band so we got to dance even!

The only complaint I really have of our stay was the resort credit misunderstanding I had. I had been thinking they would let us use our resort credit towards out outside vendor fee. Be aware! The resort credits can only be used at the Spa, Gift shop, and Resort Photographer. Had I known prior to checkout groom and I would have gone to the spa more. My husband took me to the gift shop with our remaining credit and bought me a beautiful necklace so it's ok now. But for all your future brides and have a $500 resort credit know it can only be used at those 3 spots, it doesn't work for guest passes/ outside vendor fees/ flowers.

As for our general stay at CTI I have absolutly no complaints, just gushing reviews. It was wonderful/ perfect/ amazing/ etc. We already wish we were back there. The beach was the perfect size for us, the staff very friendly, the whole resort the perfect size for us. All you ladies and gentlemen will love your weddings!

How comes nobody's getting married in december? My fiance and I will be there December 6th and get married on the 9th. We aren't sure how long were staying yet! right now just 5 nights but we're thinking 5 days just won't be enough time down there now.

We booked 10 days! I would add more if I were you...It's once in a lifetime =) Right now we have 28 people booked to accompany us so we wanted to have a few days on our own too...Happy planning!

So I got my fan's for my OOT bags! LOVE THEM!!! Now I only have to find the actual bags to put them in and stickers to put on the bags... then maybe I'll be done. Only 200 days until the wedding for us... YEA! How has everyone else been! Are the May brides super excited????

Yesterday my linens arrived for my at home party. It was cheaper to buy them, then to rent. I am starting to get my decorations organzied to pack in a suitcase only 68 days till I leave. Other than that not alot going on for me

I am sure more brides will emerge for December! Congrats! We booked a week, I think that will be perfect. We have quite a few people going, but they all leave by Monday and we will be there until Wednesday! Can't wait!

kelcan- i would love to stay 10 nights however its highly doubtful that my work or our bank accounts would allow that, were going to try for 6 nights 7 days I think
R&R - i'm hoping so it seems like such a pretty time of the year to go, plus we're from ohio so it'll be nice to get away from the cold and snow for a while!

We're finally in the double digits!!! 97 days from today we'll be married in jamaica! So excited!

We sent out our invites and the replies are starting to come back in. We're thinking we'll have about 30-40 people coming with us. So excited.
We're starting a HARDCORE diet tomorrow to lose as much weight as possible before the wedding. I'm going to be miserable, but hopefully look GOOD! lol

Welcome to the double digits ASH. I am aslo on a hardcore diet. And can be very grumpy at times lol. I am pretty mad at myself for waiting so long to start.

Wow Ash thats a good number to go to Jamaica with you. We have 8 people joining us.

I am not sure about the new website, guess I have to get use to it.

On the weekend I went and paid the balance on my wedding dress. Its still not in but I have my alterations appointment booked for June 5. I did a little shopping on the weekend for some new clothes, bought a dress and a few tops. I also did a trial run on packing my decorations, oot bags in a suitcase and was pleased it all fit and well under the weight allowance. I am flying AirCanada and we are allowed 2 checked bags (have to pay 20.00 for the 2nd bag) each bag can weigh 50lbs. I was worried in the beginning about weight but I think I am going to be fine.

I had my bridesmaid try on her dress with the accessories she looked beautiful and everything coordinated really nice. I asked my son to try his stuff on so I could take a picture of them together but he was busy painting etc and did not want to take the time to clean up lol. Oh well guess you guys have to wait for the wedding to see the pictures.

This friday are balance is due on the trip very exciting and now its seems very real. I am stopping by my lawyers tonite to pick up the notarized documents and will be sending them registered mail tonite. Did you guys notice that its now 45 days not 30 days for the deadline for the notarized documents.?

I guess thats about all the news that I have, how are everyone's plans coming along!

R&R your from MN? Maybe you will get spring soon and that always makes it easier for me to loose weight! But no matter what you be beautiful!! Oh and When are you going down? Kevin and I go down Monday and leave the following thursday. Most of the family's will be down between Wednesday and the following Thursday..

Randall & I leave Wednesday the 9th and come back the following Wednesday... Most of our group will get there on Monday and leave the following Monday. Some leave on Sunday though.

Wow chris!! So many exciting things coming up!! Paying the balance is a great feeling! We paid ours off once we got our tax return (thank GOD for that!). It makes it so much more real.
Darn.. i was hoping to see some pics of your bridesmaids, but thats okay. I can wait. What did you decide the groom would wear? Mine is wearing a linen suit from Mens warehouse with the vest and tie and everything. Both mothers talked him into being "more formal' since my dress is kinda on the fancy side.
Thank you for the heads up on the notary thing. I dont have a lawyer... where else can i get something notarized? Anyone know? How much does that usually cost?
I'm very nervous about bringing everything in the suitcases too! We bought bubbles (3 boxes) and fans (that will have the program glued onto them). I hope i can fit that AND all the wedding stuff and normal vacation stuff. I wish i could say i am an efficient packer, but i am DEFINITELY not. I could probably do 3 weeks off of my 1 weeks worth of packing. lol Im going to have to take the bare minimum to fit everything.

I know how you feel about the diet!! Its making me sooo grumpy! But its worth it... if theres ever a time to kill yourself to get skinny, its now!! I'm running or working out 6 days a week and eating no carbs and no sugar. UGHHHH.... i started this past week... so 3 full months of this.... if i stop replying to this thread youll know why... i'll be dead from lack of carbs! lol good luck with your weight loss. When you feel hungry, paint your nails or go for a walk (somewhere far away from your kitchen). You can do it!!

Also, as my gift to the bridesmaids, i was thinking of getting them each a $50 gc to the spa at the resort. Do you think thats a good idea? THen if they want their hair done for the wedding, they could do that, or they could get a message. Any thoughts??

If you have a State Representative office in your town they will have a Notary Public. I was fortunate to have a friend that works at a bank who is a Notary Public as well. He did ours. I told him he can feel like he is now officially involved in our wedding.

We also will have around 36 or 38 people at the resort with us the day of our wedding. Most of them will be there the entire week. We pretty much kept it open to whoever wanted to go. A friend of our is getting married the week before and they are going down a day or two before we get there for their honeymoon.
