Thanks for that information. does digital memories print any of these images out for you? Or are you responsible for the printing? $1500 sounds like a great deal for all that. The $650 for the resort photographer only allows you 36 photos printed and a cd of just those 36. That scares me a bit. I want a photo of us with our family AND getting ready AND the ceremony AND photos on the beach.. how is 36 going to cover that?? what is everyone else doing for photography?? any thoughts on this?

I have hired Marcia Roberts.I found her pretty reasonable. I have to look up how much she is charging me but I think with her coming back the next day for TTD it came to around 1500.00 so in total with the 500 vendors fee I am looking at 2000.00 She normally charges about 1800 just for the wedding so she took the 500 off that. I would have to check my emails from her.

Digital Memories does not print any of the images for you. However people have posted they brought the cd to any photo printer (Some even Walmart) and said they turned out perfect.

One thing to ask an outside photographer also is how quick is their turn around, esp if you have an at home reception. Spring is huge business for them and some told me it could be a month or more! Since I'm getting married on a Tuesday and not leaving until Sunday Diana said she'd work really hard to get me the images before I leave Jamaica, otherwise mailed in a week.

It is totally not what i thought i would like! I tried on "simplier" dresses (because i always thought i would enjoy something plain and simple) and none of those did it for me. My mom came with me and was a big help.
I had narrowed it down to 2 dress- 2 that were totally differnt from eachother. One was more simply and had a lot of beading around the halter top neckline and the other is the one i chose. It was so much fun trying them on. I could've gone with either one but my mom was great at reminding me what i'm self concious about and it helped me to chose the right dress. yay!!!

Yey! A 2011 group! This is very exciting and reassuring.Thank you so much Ashntommy for somehow making this wonderful group! Its really putting my mind at ease. My fiance and I booked our weddingmoon at CSA for May 2011. The wedding is May 21st (soooooo far away). I already bought my dress, but sorry :-( no pics available to post. Any other brides going to be down in CSA May 19-25th??

I have not done much at all lately. I did a sample of my save the dates and plan on sending them out in August when I do them on the proper cardstock I will attempt to post a picture

We are possibly booking a 2011 wedding. I haven't booked a room yet, but have been researching for quite some time now. I was thinking April. But have heard mixed reviews on the weather. I am also torn between CSA and CN.

I am having some trouble convincing my mom this is the best choice. It is my first marriage, and me and my fiance have been together a little over 5 years now. Any advice on talking to the rents would be appreciated.

Our parents have been really supportive. Think of all the money it will save your parents, plus they can go on vacation too... Well, if you are bringing people with you! For how expensive weddings and honeymoons are these days, it is just so much easier to combne them! It was a no-brainer for us!

Hi, Ladies!!! I've been away from the boards and trying not to think of wedding stuff, but now I have to. April will be here before I know it! Congrats to everyone on this tread. There will be a lot of happy people next year!! Looking forward to 2011!!!

I have to agree with R&R on that one... The price alone is such an amazing combination... we looked into halls here on Long island, NY and found that the cheapest we could do was about $12000 for 110 people....and thats just for the reception!!! our honeymoon AND wedding combined at couples (with everything!- cake, flowers, pictures, hair, makeup, food etc) will only cost us around $6500!! Come on! And where else can you get married on the most beautiful beach in the world??
Anyway, tell your parents that you can still do all the traditional things about the wedding (minus the church)... you can still sleep in different places the night before, you can still have a reception if you'd like to do toasts and garder toss/bouquet toss, you will still have your parents walk down the isle first etc. Its just in a different location and you'll probably have less people there. If its what YOU really want im sure they'll come around. good luck Melrose!!

hi all, i feel like my wedding is AGES AWAY just thinking about it is driving me crazy every day i just want to go..NOW LOL jan 2011 17th at CN, ALSO my 28th birthday.cant wait have my dress very traditional as we were planning to get wed here in march but we lost our twin babies and it was too much stress planning a wedding it seemed to be about every body else..seating plans etc so we are getting wed in secret ..just the two of us,,,,no stress . i have to have a 4pm wedding as my dress is quite heavy so i dont want to be too hot may pay for a sunset wedding not sure yet

Welcome longley, have you considered the 10 am time slot that might be cooler as well. So sorry to hear of your loss.

I agree with sunstarsmoon that I hear 10am is the coolest(temp wise) time slot of the entire day.And I hear the water colors are beutiful at that time.
I too am a 4pm bride but that's because I'm crossing my fingers for a few sunset pics by the end of my photo session post wedding. That and my future hubby is sooo not a morning person. Got to love that the resort takes the planning stress away!

When I informed my parents that Couples was going to be my wedding I had to explain in a couple different ways why it's the perfect choice for me. My dad is a numbers guy. For him I went through the savings of doing a weddingmoon and explained that fiance and me don't want to wait until 2012 to have enough money to do a traditional wedding.
My mom was huge on the traditional big wedding back home. So for her I made a compromise. We are having a backyard BBQ back home post honeymoon as a reception for friends and family who weren't invited to the wedding(we're only inviitng immediate family). This way she gets to help with all that traditional planning and it makes her feel more included.

If a destination wedding is what you want then go for it. It's harder for parents to say no if you tell them you've made up your mind.
