Couples Resorts History: The Sans Souci Tower

Sans Souci, French for “without care,” was designed to capture the natural beauty of the island of Jamaica by internationally known architect Happy Ward. Couples Resorts acquired the property in 2005 and the resort is still notable for its Mediterranean charm.

The unusual tower which houses the resorts only elevator recently benefited from a complete restoration and has been restored to its former glory. Now back in service, it provides guests with the ability to continue to experience that laid back, “no worries” feeling, while riding between the spa and lobby area. Be sure to check it out on your next travel to Jamaica and be a part of the resorts unique charm and elegance on this 35 acre pristine paradise. Don’t forget to look out for the French Italian General Manager Pierre Battaglia, who is also always willing to share with you the rich history of Couples Resorts.
