The Jamaica Hotel and Tourist Association (JHTA) held its 52nd annual awards luncheon in Ocho Rios on Saturday, June 1st, 2013. Awards for exemplary service were presented to a variety of Jamaican attractions, resorts, and individuals. In one of the events highlights, Una McIntosh (pictured below), a room attendant of Couples Sans Souci Caribbean all inclusive beach resort for over 40 years, was named Hotel Employee of the Year.
Affectionately known as “Sixteen” because of her spunky behavior and her hot red lipstick, Una is a lady who takes exceptional pride in herself and has an impeccable eye for detail. She is loved universally by both guests and staff. During her lengthy tenure in the industry she has been offered promotions on a number of occasions but has graciously declined as she wants to “ensure guest satisfaction by doing it herself”. Miss Una has won the hotel Employee of the Year award a stunning TEN times and was labeled a “Woman of Excellence” by the Jamaica Observer in 2004. Ms Una’s warm and welcoming smile can be seen during the afternoons and evenings as she services the ocean front suites.

Couples Resorts CEO Glenn Lawrence recently noted, “Heartiest congratulations to Ms. Una, who has been a stalwart and a role model for employees both at Couples Sans Souci and the wider staff population within the whole Couples Resorts organization. Her kind and hospitable nature is the epitome of what every employee should strive to be. We are very proud of her and we look forward to her receiving further accolades for her exceptional contribution.”
