8 days today - we'll be joining you the 6th - 10th for our 6th trip to CN.

I seriously considered packing today but it's too soon - all I need to do is empty the Jamaica drawers and we're on our way.

    HI JOE!!
I pretty much have an even 7 days from now!! I am so excited I could burst.
Talked to my sweet sweet friend Carolyn last night.....she will be there Thursday, getting her groove on and warming everything up for us to arrive! I just hope she doesn't drink too much and leave nothing for us! She's a real wild child, let me tell you!! I think she had started already, she was talking about hiding in a cotton field, not sure what she was doing in there, but she will be out in time for the flight....that I know. Her man Bill is busting at the chomp just like we are!!
    Debbie.....READY?????
Joe, see you in BALTIMORE!! 1/2 WAY TO PARADISE!!!

    Joe,
Rita and I are getting real stoked!! Ive been on this board for a number of months and I see a huge constant with folks that are hooked on CN. A slight bummer for us is the fact that most of our day next Saturday will be taken up with travel. We hope to be sliding in to the resort around 4-ish, CAN'T WAIT!!! This will be the first time on a trip like this that we have such positive anticipation, thanks to you all on this board. As I have mentioned before, the most important things to us is a fabulous beach, surrounded by friendly folks. Hopefully we can mingle a bit. Don't be surprised if we just see folks like you and DEET, and just walk on up and introduce ourselves. We have that advantage, since you guys post your pictures. I do have a question that maybe you can answer. Does the spa require you to bill services to your room or can you pay as you go??

    Johio:

Thanks for the compliment, but it's easy to rave about Couples. You'll see.

As for paying at the spa, personally, we have always just charged the treatments to our room and paid cash for the tips.

Couples is "cashless", so I think you have to charge it to your room. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

That being said, I believe that you can still "settle up" with cash when you check out.

Joe you are right. You have to charge your spa treatments to your room and settle up as you check out. I am pretty sure you can check out with cash or card.
Melody, as you can see by the post, I am out of the cotton field. I am definately going to get a head start on you guys, but I'll do my best to save some. I don't know about being that wild child. The only thing
wild about me this morning is my hair.

Joe, thanks for the response. Seriously, in the whole scheme of things, it doesn't really matter. Pay for it this way or that way.....we do plan on sampling some massage. Have you always put together a "meet up spreadsheet" like you did this time? This would seem to be an ideal way for folks to mingle on some sort of common ground. It seems you have met before some of the folks on this board. Its also quite cool how those same folks, the ones who have been there, reference Negril and Couples as "home". Is it typical for the waters of Bloody Bay to be calm? I imagine, and anticipate very slight rolling waves with very little chop. I also imagine a sandy bottom with very little coral, at least where folks like to play around. Is there any good snorkeling out further, or would you recommend going up the road for that?

    Johio,
Yes, Couples is "cashless". But its all good. You just settle up at the end. No worries while you are there.
And please do come and say "HI"....will love to meet you!!
See you in 4 MORE DAYS!!!

    Johio:

This is the first time I've put together a spreadsheet. I borrowed (read "stole") the idea from another thread I saw a year ago. I added the coundown clock though. Being an accountant, I'm very comfortable with Excel.

I've not personally met, in person, anyone that's on this thread before, but I'm sure that will change in a couple of Days. Melody and Tom (Deet1114) are on the same connecting flight as us. Last year, I did have the honor of meeting Richie (Crabracer) and his lovely wife, Syl, at CTI. I had seen his posts here and it was cool to finally meet him.

You will understand the feelings and devothion that the repeaters have for Couples after you visit. The "Once you go...you know!" mantra is true. Be sure to sign up for Romance Rewardds before you go. I'm sure you'll want to return and you'll be able to take advantage of the repeaters' perks. You automaticly get to do the Trading Places perk just for signing up. It'd be a great for you to get a taste of CSA. The only thing Couples takes from you for signing up is an email address so that they can send you a quarterly newsletter.

Your expectations of the water and beach are spot on. Calm, clear waters with a sandy bottom. They offer snokling trips out to the offshore reef twice a day. SIgn up in advance at the water sports hut. They go to a couple of different locations on the same reef. There is also night snorkling for $35 per person. Again, this is charged to your room. We have yet to try it. Jenny would perfer to have better vision of the critters that she swims with. Or should I say swims away from? The snokling is better in Cancun, as far as things to see, but it's still fun.

how is the no water bottles working out? I know you can buy them, but I was used to having water bottles delivered to us during the volleyball games...

We've managed just fine without, and I thought I'd miss it too. I drink lots of water typically. The only problem I had was the one day that the crew forgot to refill our pitcher in our room. Luckily for us, there is never a bar too far away with plenty of water available there. It's all good.

However, if I knew that I would be doing something more strenuous than drinking Red Stripe on the beach (like playing volleyball), I'd heavily consider bringing my own refillable water bottle to have near by.
