Thread: March Maniacs 2012!

We were considering some of the excursions too. Did you book ahead of time or wait until you got to couples? Or did you book thru someone else? We were considering the pelican bar, black river, ys and rick's? Never been to cn so would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

CN 3/18 through 3/24. First timers at it all! Jamaica, all inclusive, trip by ourselves without kids...we never had a honeymoon so we cannot wait! Coming from Iowa.

Ed & Lena- from Chicago, IL -9th Trip to CN from 3/8 - 3/15!! Bringing 3 other couples with us!! CANT WAIT!!!

For those who want to visit the school kids and drop off school supplies - we can once again visit Sandy Bay Basic School one morning (approx 9am ish pickup from lobby) and Gregg would like to take us to one of his favorite places for lunch. This would be probably half a day, and he is always soooo good about giving facts and information along the way. Gregg always charges us a VERY nominal fee, usually just covering gas/expenses since we are helping out the local kiddos -- would be $25 per person.

As far as the Pelican Bar trip, we can do the Pelican Bar with a Black River Safari (boat trip down the Black River - crocodiles, etc) or we can do the Pelican Bar with an Appleton Rum Estate tour (ending with samples of over 20 of their different rum flavors!) This would be a "most of the day" trip (last time it seemed like it was 8/9am - 3/4ish) and would be $75 per person (I believe lunch is included with either tour)

Shout out if you want to join in -- he will need some idea of how many are wanting to go to determine bus size. We will also need to confirm dates -- it'll just depend who wants to go.

Al and Nicole- are you first timers? We will be there at the same time as you and this will be our first time. We are in IA but moved here 1.5 years ago from Blaine, MN. Would be good to meet you!

Hehehe. Guess I wasn't paying close enough attention- just saw it was your second time Al and Nicole!

Ok...tax season is starting to hit hard, but the weather still isn't. We had highs in the 40's a couple days ago, and this week it'll be 20's and 30's. Not that I'm complaining, but it's nerve-racking waiting for that timebomb to go off! No matter...80's and sunny in 30-something days.

Welcome new people. kkinmass, congrats on your upcoming anniversary. We are leaving the day you arrive so don't let the door hit ya on the way in. Montalena, you and your group will have a few days at CN before we get there. Please don't drink all the rum cream! sgoodhue13 & alnic1999...fellow current and former Minnesotans! We live in Blaine. Hopefully we'll get a chance to meet you there before we leave on the 20th.

Unless you want to remain anonymous, for which I don't necessarily blame you , it would be nice if you could post a picture of yourselves if you haven't yet. It would help to put faces to the names and give everyone a chance to make some new friends.

Rhonda, I'm pretty sure that we'll be in for the Pelican Bar trip.

JJ you are doing such a wonderful job keeping the spreadsheet up to date! I will send you a bouquet on Secretary's Day We brought a bottle of rum cream back with us last year and my girlfriend drank almost the whole darn thing! We'll be stocking up this year! You know, you can drink that stuff after dinner too? And here I thought it was just a morning beverage!

RHONDA!! Yooo hooo!! Did you guys decide against the falls portion of the trip? It looked fun and we haven't been there. That sounded better than sitting in a hot boat and feeding aligators but that's just me

Jamaican Junkie: Stacy and Eric from Carlisle, IA (formerly Blaine, MN) coming March 18th through the 24th. Having trouble uploading a picture- keeps saying it is too big to post. So... this is our first time all- inclusive. Does no tipping really mean no tipping? Is anything expected? And do we need to book anything ahead of time (cat cruise, spa treatments, etc)? Or can we do it once we get on the resort?

We live in Maple Grove, so not too far from Blaine. We both grew up on the Iron Range, and moved to Maple Grove about 7 years ago.

I pick up school supplies/clothes/etc throughout the year, and hope that it all fits in our suitcases!

girl it doesn't matter to us - we've done the falls before, but if that's what the majority decides, we're good with it. Gregg just threw out those other options for consideration. I'm actually liking the Rum Tour, but no worries, I'll go with whatever we all choose!
I know Crystal wants to do the Pelican, but not sure what their other decision would be. Junkie is in for PB too I believe.

Four more Saturdays - Yay!! It's good to see more pics! I'm good at remembering faces but not so much with names...

Rhonda can you believe this will be your 4th anniversay that we'll be spending w/ you and Mark - how romantic! LOL! I guess we'll all have a sit down when we get there and decide on the details of our day trip. No worries!

Also -- this year Jerry and MaeLynn will be joining us - we met them 6 years ago about this time on the Couples Message Board - they were getting married the same day we were, so we were their witnesses, and they did the same for us! We've kept in touch all these years, and they are finally coming back to Jamaica!! YAYAYY!

We are only going for 7 days this year so I think that we will spend it on the beach. We had a great time last year. The tour that the driver gave us was really great. So where ever you guys take off to you will have a great time.

Will be fun to see the couple that stood up with you two. I guess that I was the audience dressed to the T with a wet swimming suit. Was also most late just getting back from the afternoon snorkling trip. Daine and I were trying to think back on which year we got back togther with you and Mark was it March 08 or was it 09?

Hi, Yes we will be flying from LGW, and with Virgin too. Hopefully be sitting upstairs in the bubble.
Plane leaves about 1200 midday, so i guess its the same flight.
Looking forward to our return again to CN, and having a relaxing 2 weeks in the sun.

We will be at CN from March 3rd to 18th 2012, so may well see you there.
We love it , love Jamaica, and the people.
Its our 5th visit to CN, and always go in March.
Hopefully you will enjoy the all inclusive , we do, and we always put on a few pounds.
Ps.. relax in Jamaica - no rush !
