Less than a month now! We're getting the base tan, talking about things to pack, carry on vs checking...what items and how much! Oh yea, it's getting serious! We're having a cold snap, perfect to get you in the mood, even had a pool pipe bust last night because of freezing!
Need to buy some Red Stripe this weekend, when it will be less than 3 weeks, and get in that beer habit...talking about things to do. Definite with 1 or 2 Cat Cruises, Repeaters Dinner, lobster night twice I think, hobie cats, volleyball, drinks and hot tubing...sounds good, hurry and get here.........
Yes....it snows in Texas!!! Yesterdays snow storm is only making us watch the calendar closer and looking forward the nice warm beach!! Kiddo, same here. Our stay will be shorter than most and we plan to spend most of our time relaxing on the beach/pool/hot tub. Definately plan on the Cat Cruise, lobster night and maybe a trip to Rick's and of course....plenty of Red Stripe and anything else they can whip up!! It's been 25 years since we have been to Jamaica and first trip to CN. The Red Stripe sure taste better on the beach!!
Hey there new people. And old people too! kjnshark, we will be there the same time as you, and we are always looking for fun! Milt&sandy, we will be there at the same time as you, and we are always looking for sun! Fun and sun...that should just about cover it. Milt&sandy, let me know your exact dates and I will add you to the calendar.
sgoodhue13, you are not supposed to give cash tips to any Couples employees (bell hops, grounds crew, bartenders, wait staff, housecleaning, etc). They can get fired for accepting cash tips. Guests have frequently thought of other ways to show their gratitude with non-cash gifts. I know you can search it on the message board, and maybe some others on here can chime in with some ideas. Some common people/places where tipping is accepted are the shuttle drivers to/from the airport, taxi services, catamaran cruise staff, spa staff, vendors, and caddies. I think you can book spa treatments ahead of time, but I don't think it is necessary. You can sign up for dinners, trading places, golfing and some other things at the reservation desk in the main lobby. I think you sign up for spa treatments right at the spa, and the cat cruises at watersports.
Alnic1999, we make our way to Arbor Lakes quite often. Maybe we should meet up for a pre-trip Red Stripe sometime!
Carol & Ed...nice to see you again! It's too bad we won't cross paths this time. I really enjoyed our various island conversations.
Rhonda...we will be in for the PB excursion. We'd prefer either Rum Tour or Black River Safari. I'm not sure if Leatha could handle the falls.
Jerzzgirl, I'd really prefer a bottle of rum cream over a bouquet! And speaking of rum cream, here is my favorite method of drinking it...
Thanks everyone for posting your pictures. Keep them coming if you haven't posted one yet. Attached is an updated calendar. Let me know if you are missing! Attachment 15627
message board posts seem to be lagging quite a bit so hopefully I'm not repeating myself....LOL
Okay - who is wanting to go on the school trip?
also - Pelican Bar and Appleton Rum tour (Lisa - will yall be horribly disappointed without the Falls? Don't back out on me now!! LOL) I'm thinking either Tuesday the 13th or Thursday the 15th -- probably more so Thursday (JJ gets in on Monday, so they may not want to "travel" again so soon!)
Wow...snow in Texas and none in Minnesota. Who would have thunk that! ("thunk" is Texanese for "thought"). Sorry y'all! Please don't shoot me!
electricmeyer...let us know where you end up. We did SR once and got CN. Good luck!
Marc & Courtney...How y'all doing! About time you made it back! When was the last time...2008? Why is it taking the moderators so long to approve your attachments? They must be doozies! By the way...it's King Jamaican Junkie to you! Definitely not King Va Jay Jay! That's Queen Leatha's department. Oh, that reminds me...all those that wish to enter the kingdom of the March Maniacs must visibly display the following tattoo:
kiddo, at this stage, you better bypass the beer bong and go straight to the Red Stripe I.V.
Rhonda, I think we'll just stick with the Rum Tour/PB trip this time. And yes, we would really appreciate waiting until at least Thursday.
Also, if anyone is interested in joining me for 9 hole of golf some morning, let me know.
FYI - I will have a supply of the infamous glow necklaces and glow bracelets for St. Patty's day.
Milt & Sandy and Marc & Courtney, you have hereby been entered onto the official March Maniacs calendar!
Time is getting closer! 23 days... (27 to CN)
Jamaican Junkie, we arrive at CN from CSS on St. Paddy's dat, we'll look for the glow bracelets!
Can't believe we'd ever say this but we are looking forward to our trip home from CN! Yesterday we booked TimAir from Negril back to Montego Bay on the day we leave. Neither of us have ever been in a plane that small before but are really excited about it!
JJ - I've got the beads and green food coloring, so it sounds like we're set for st pattys day! Oh, and the dome table is in Otaheite, it's the large one in the middle, when a person on one side of the table says something the person opposite them hears it almost magnified... some kind of weird acoustics there, and super fun after having a few dinner drinks.... I think Kim and Jim nearly fell out of their chairs last year!
Marc and Courtney -- we are so excited to see yall again! (you'd think we could've managed to meet up in the last 3 years, but with yall poppin out babies over there.... LOL)
Crystal - are yall in for the pelican bar?
Lisa - where did you go?! buried in snow? Mark and the boys just got back from an overnighter on the Battleship Texas - I bet Jeff visited it at some time during his youth (he's from SA right? and wasn't he in the Navy?)
to all -- we can't wait to meet everyone, it will be a blast as usual !! I know Dave and Leatha will be, but who else is headed to the AN side?
