We're flying in from Chicago, four of us for our first time. Can't wait for the longest over due vacation

You, your wife and your friends have chosen a wonderful place to ring in the New Year! We have been to CSS twice over this period, and the weather has been warm during the day (with some brief rain showers), but the evenings can be cool, so your wife might want to pack a light sweater. The pools can also be a bit chilly since they aren't heated, but the ocean has been warm enough to swim in.

Just booked CSS Dec 30 to Jan 6 2nd time at this resort, decided we needed more time here, can't wait. Last year we did it for 4 days and then went to CN for 7 days, so we are going to do the reverse for this round. Hope the new years is exciting!!!!

The light sweater for your wife might also come in handy if you eat dinner indoors at Casanova or Palazzina tooo--that AC can be pretty chilly too!

Hope to meet you too suzyQ and same applies to everyone else. What are the Christmas & New Years celebrations like?

Hi T&W,
The resort will have beautiful Christmas decorations and a big tree in the lobby. I have not celebrated Christmas at CSS, but this will be our third NYE. There will be a lovely cocktail party outdoors before a HUGE buffet dinner on the Main Lawn, weather permitting. It's like the Starlight Gala on steroids!:-) Last year there were hats, beads, and noise makers handed out, and there was a variety show with singers and dancers. At midnight each couple was given a floating latern to release into the sky. It was quite a beautiful sight! Oh I can't forget to mention that there was plenty of sparkling wine flowing all night long too! A good time was had by all. Each year there is a theme, I haven't heard the theme for this year's celebration yet. Anyone have any news on the theme?
