Who else will be there? We are booked from May 4th-13th. Will be our 2nd visit. Can't wait to be "repeaters".

Guess we are going to have the whole place to ourselves???
August 2nd, 2012, 01:57 PM
Hi Deb and Jeff,
Wife, I, Daughter and her Boyfriend are booked for 5/18/13- 5/25/13. Taking the Daughter and Boyfriend as a College Grad Present.
I think there are many more Booked, but I think with it being so far out, people are still worried about economy and Jobs and Are afraid to post. That way if they had to cancel for these reasons, they dont have to return to say they cant go now. We are still worried about it ourselves. A lot can change in a year! Daughter breaks up with boyfriend? Loss of job!
We are also going to Negril in December! Couples resorts twice in a 5 month span! Cant wait!

Hey Lou and Meredith!!
What is the difference between Negril and San Souci?? We had already booked a cruise for December. However, after having been to San Souci last May it may be our last cruise as we opt for all inclusive instead.
August 6th, 2012, 10:55 PM
Cant tell you yet? But it sounds like the beach is softer. We have only been to San Souci in Dec 10. We fell deep in love with this Resort. So Amazing! From the Beautiful Grounds to the Staff to the friendly guests! We are hoping we love Negril as much as San Souci so we can switch every other trip. Tower Isle and Swept Away just dont seem to calling to us yet. Maybe we will do the visit to each the next two trips to see if we are wrong.
We were Big "Cruisers" before we found Couples! Loved them for a while.(About 7) But Couples is the Only place we have ever been to were we totally relaxed! It is the only 8 days of our lives, since we were about 16, that we didnt have to think about money. After a fun day "at Sea" on a Cruise and enjoying Drinks, Bingo and the Casino, I would be back to our room at midnight, turn the TV on and go to the channel that tracks your bill, and Go "Oh %hit"!! "We spent $350.00 today"????? As it turned out for us, Couples is Less Expensive then a cruise when we would figured in our Bar Bill, Entertainment, Spa and Tips. With Couples, Once we pay to go, we are done with money except for tipping the shuttle drivers and the Spa. ( Not this time with the early Booking Resort Credits, Spa is covered).
We also love the way every guest is treated the same at Couples! Awesome! Respectful! We did an AI in Punta Cana in Dec09. It was nice. But we did the Upgraded Pkg. that gave us all the Perks. The people that didnt were treated like garbage. Just seeing how they treated the other guests made us not want to go back there. Plus, Every employee had their hand out for a tip. I dont mind tipping for great service, but for just holding a door open, I dont think so! I thought that was just called having manners or being polite???
If we continue to have the experience we had at Couples Sans Souci from all of the Couples Resorts, we feel there is no reason to change, we have found paradise! And with the Early Booking Credits and Repeaters Credits we will never spend more than a couple hundred bucks once we leave our driveway til we return to the bills in the mailbox.
On another note. I mentioned in my last post that people are probably worried about losing their jobs. I guess I shouldnt have said that. Well, Meredith came home in tears today because one of her co-workers was let go today.( Yes, When I saw the tears, I thought that she lost her job) She loves and cares about everyone! Thats why I love her so much! But it just goes to show that we never know what tomorrow will bring! Guess its just another reason to be thankful for today!
Sounds like you are great people! To bad we are going to be there after you leave! We would have bought the first round of Bob Marley Shots!( And only round(1) that I can handle)lol
What Cruise Line and Destination are you taking in Dec? You will have a blast just the same. Just dont think of Couples when your on it! lol By the way, we will be doing at least one more Cruise ourselves, some day. Still want to do Alaska, and we think Cruising would be the best way to do that!
Sorry for my typing run on,..... and on...... and on. Well, I guess you asked for it when you got down that know one was going in May!

I totally understand the job situation. Last year my position was eliminated, luckily there was another state agency that took me until another opening came up in my prefered agency.
Jeff had only been to AI's prior to our getting together and we took a cruise first because he hadn't experienced it. He really enjoyed it but wanted me to experience the AI. He didn't think I would go to Sunset Beach but I fooled him! LOL and I loved it. We had already booked our Dec cruise prior to going to CSS and I think he wanted to hold off until we had gone to CSS. However, I poked and prodded him because I loved becoming a member of a cruise community on Cruise Critic. Then I discovered this board. That's why I was a little disappointed when the thread went so long without any comments. I knew it was just a matter of time.

I'm so glad that you and your SO will be repeaters at CSS! I was worried that your experience with the hot tub at SSB would prevent you from returning!
As long time cruisers, 15 cruises with Royal Caribbean, the best value for our dollar is definitely AI, I must admit that we do love our drinks! I hate worrying about the bill at the end of a cruise!!!!
Hope you have a great trip! We will be returning to CSS for trip #6 in December and trip #7 in July! If all goes well!!!
All the best!
August 18th, 2012, 01:24 PM
suzyQ funny you should mention that post. It was the SO who wrote it!! Bugger. LOL The hot tub was only minor to me but I understand his frustration. He had been to Braco a number of times so the pool and hot tub on the AN side was a disappointment. If Braco hadn't reopened as a family resort we would have gone there. However, we discovered the beauty of CSS and will be back. Our May return will be for 10 days. December we will be taking an eastern Caribbean cruise on carnival.

Leaving for Couples Negril tomorrow morning. The count down for CSS in May will be starting in 10 days for us! Worried we wont like Negril as much as our first Love, CSS. But I am sure after a couple of Bob Marley Shots, we will feel right at home, like CSS.
There has to more people going in May???????, Lets hear from all of you!!!!!!!

Got married at CSA in May 2011, heading to CSS May 11-18 for our anniversary. My wife shares your worries in reverse, Ocho vs Negril side of island. I am of the mindset that a few drinks, some sun and sand, and all is well.

We are not sure of what room to have at the moment have a Verandah Suite, but would love a bath so wonder if oceanfront 1 bed would be a good idea?
What are the steps like, my husband has a knee problem, saw there was an elevator?
Sounds like a paradise, we stayed at Couples Negril last year, but wanted a private beach setting.
Looking forward to hearing from you

Glad to see other couples will be there the week we go in May. Woohoo! Will be here before we know it. May 19th thru the 25th. We will be coming from the Coast of Mississippi.
January 13th, 2013, 11:40 AM
We had a beachfront last year and the tub was huuuuge! I don't remember seeing an elevator but then again I didn't look for it. I know they will shuttle around the resort. As for the stairs there are a lot. The first day we went exploring and I only wore flip flops and ended up with a blister. You should let them know about Roger's knee issue to see if they have any suggestions. We stayed in Building B and were pretty much central to everything. This year we would like the some building but an upper floor. Being on the ground floor there was a lot of foot traffic outside our patio.
Looking forward to meeting you!

Hi Mike& Sue,
Thanks for the offer. It'll be fun to meet you guys. We tried SSB twice last year, but we stayed off to the side of the beach, so we didn't really get a chance to meet anyone. Maybe this time we need to go to the bar and get involved in some of the games and meet some people. It might make us feel a little more at ease, and then maybe Brenda will want to spend a little more time there. 100 long, cold days till I can get that Red Stripe from you, but I'm still not counting!!!!
