CTI...March 2013 Anyone?

We will be there for our first time 3/25 - 3/30. Looking to see who else will be there. Very excited and have lots of questions. Would like to chat with others going in that time frame. Any advice would be helpful.

Hey everybody. Bob and I (Bridget) will be at CTI from March 19-26. Bob loves to fish and would like to charter a boat. I am making the arrangements. We're looking for 3 other folks to join, and are flexible on which day right now. Bob did it last year, someone else organized it, and it was $150 per person for a half day (about 4 hrs). They had fun. If you'd be interested, I would love to hear from you!

Jim & Linda, I definitely corrected the typo in my head, as I was pretty sure you didn't want to see me burn anything! :-) Thanks for worrying about me! I always end up needing to check a bag to bring the sunscreen I need, I'm sensitive to different brands so I can't just get it in the gift shop at the hotel. It all works out, I fill up the rest of the bag with school supplies to donate to the Three Hills Primary School. (Our first year, they asked for pencils. I am a teacher, it's a hard job even when you have enough pencils, but if all of my students had to share them... yikes! So we like to help.)

mfricton, we've never had trouble getting onto the excursions we want. If you're a new scuba diver, be prepared that there is a 4 lap swim test of sorts... Bob found it pretty challenging! I have also seen the resort call for a 2nd van for excursions if the first one was full. Hope that helps.

33 days to go. It can't get here soon enough. We got suntan lotion earlier in the week and I got a couple of new tops and my husband got a new pair of golf shorts yesterday. We started a vacation shelf in the spare room so now I'm getting even more excited.
We've been to Dunn's river falls but were thinking of doing some other excursions this time. Has anyone done the tubing on the river or any other suggestions?

I have scuba dived before but it will be a first for my fiance. That is good to hear on the excursions. I was a little worried they would all be filled by the time we got there. Thank you

Siouangal3, My Fiance(Theresa) and I (Mark) are also getting married on the 16th of march and flying out on the 18th. We waited a day to fly out for the same reasons. We are flying jet blue out of Orlando. We might run into you guys on the flight down.

We will be there March 8-14. Nervous as heck. Had to book 2 one way tickets with American Airlines...bad feeling on that! Salon...has anyone used the salon? AND we have no witnesses for our wedding on the 11th at Sunset! I should be thrilled, but I am very nervous. Disaster nervous! 39 days til departure! Agh.

We have done several excursions (from CSS) in Ocho Rios which I can recommend (listed below in my favorite order):

Mystic Mountain (tranopy/bobsled ride/zipline) - awesome adventure! a little pricey, and we wished the bobsled was a bit longer, but that is the nature of that activity. The infinity pool at the top overlooks the port and was a great place to hang out and do the water slide. Zipline down was a lot of fun and not overtly strenuous - I would say you should have good mobility, but don't need to be an athlete to enjoy.

Ocean Safari - waverunner and snorkel combo - we had bad weather on this trip, but I can imagine it would have been better if the waves hadn't been kicking up the sand. Downside was that it was about a 40 minute trip to and then back from CSS.

Hooves horseback ride on land and water. I love horses and think the trip was a lot of fun. I would have preferred the private ride so I could have been with more experienced riders. The only reason it is towards the bottom of my list is that the horses were a little skinny, although well cared for. Most animals that we have seen on Jamaica are skinnier than my overindulged pets, just my point of view.

We haven't been on the ATV tour, but the folks that came back (covered head to toe in MUD) had a brilliant time. I keep thinking about the Blue Mountain bike tour, but we hate to spend that much time away from the resort (our trips are usually under 8 nights). I can't comment on the tubing either, but that seems like a lot of fun too. John and I arrive at CTI on the 4th - maybe we'll get to meet up and take a mini-group excursion! (We're easy to spot - just look for the Cornell University gear) 5 weeks to go!!

My husband and I will be at CTI from March 22 - 29. This will be our first time at any Couples resort and we are so excited to be going to an all adult resort. I have heard such great things about about these resorts, the count down is on.

Oh, man.. thats so exciting! We're flying directly out of CLT to MBJ and should arrive there around 12:30 on the 18th, I believe.. We should definitely meet up for drinks or something and talk about how awesome our weddings were. --Because hopefully NONE of my weddingmares (wedding nightmares) will have come true.

We are SO excited about getting to CTI!!!! Its the only thing keeping me sane waiting for the 16th!!! Happy packing and planning everyone!!!!

Thanks for the info on the excursions. Hope we can meet up with you. My husband will be the tall bald guy with either a Michigan hat or a Toledo Mudhens hat. I see you'll be on your honeymoon so we may not see too much of you. We're also golfers so will be doing that too.

Can I just say that there are a LOT of people heading to the islands after the second week of March--in case you had not observed from this wonderul list put together by Godiva. Man, oh man.. still counting down the days. I seriously am about to burst with excitement. How many sleeps do I have until the 18th?
