Just returned from CN. This was our 1st trip to a Couples resort and it will not be our last.
From the moment that we landed in Mobay and entered the Couples lounge we knew that "Everything Was Gonna Be Alright", from the 1st cold Red Stripe at the airport lounge til our last Red Stripe again at the airport.
The shuttle from Mobay to Negril was comfortable and quick. The 1 1/4 hour trip went very fast.
Upon arrival, we were greeted with champagne and a cold washcloth, so let the pampering begin! Check-in was a breeze. We arrived very early and our garden view suite wasn't ready but "NO PROBLEM MON' so we headed straight to the Heliconia for some jerk and drinks. We had our bathing suits in our carry on and were able to change in one of the public restrooms that were as well kept as the one in our room and head straight to the swim-up bar!
When we arrived at our suite (there was no odor as some people have posted) the room was just as it was pictured on the website but there is no picture that could capture the view of the beautiful garden view and to our surprise a view of the sea. Our garden view suite was located in building 8 on the 3rd floor (room 8307) as an added bonus our room was at the western most end of the resort and the sunsets from our balcony and shower were awesome (we opened the bathroom windows and it was like an outdoor shower). The evening hors deurves were an extra bit of pampering that were well received and we enjoyed while in the jacuzzi tub along with a bottle of champagne. There were two very small glitches that happened during our stay, the tv remote control stopped working, we called the front desk, went to the beach and the staff fairies entered our room and fixed it, also our frig went on the fritz, once again we called the front desk and they sent some more staff fairies and low and behold when we returned to our suite we had a new fully stocked frig. The room was everything I expected it to be upon our booking it. The room was clean, spacious and beautiful as was the ginormous bath. In addition to our garden/beach view we had a perfect view of the wedding alter and gazebo which was great because we were there Valentines Day and there were at least four weddings. The grounds were kept immaculate, lush and green. Our room was on the top floor, when we sat on the balcony it was like being in a treehouse, in the morning while drinking coffee we were able to feed the birds on our balcony rail and in the evening we could hear the sounds of music from the entertainment while we swung in our hammock!
During our stay, other than laying on the beach raft we did do some excursions off property. We went on the shopping excursion for souvenirs to Times Square Mall, very funny since we are from New York. When you go to the stores DO NOT PAY FULL PRICE, also coffee is cheaper at the airport than the hotel or any of the stores. We also went to the Sunset Bar (Rockhouse Restaurant) for cocktails, with new friends we met for my husbands 40th and it was well worth it. The place was much more elegant than Ricks or Margaritaville and the sunset was just as exquisite. I had also read on the MB about the "Office of Nature" so we strolled down the beach for a delectable lunch of grilled lobsters($20.00 per lobster, $3 Red Stripes) It was an experience not to be skipped and it wouldn't have happened if there were no posts about it, so thank you to all who wrote about it.
As for the food at the resort it was all scrumptious with an excellent selection of food from the buffets to dinner at Otaheite. We were lucky enough to be at CN for Valentines Day and the Managers Cocktail party poolside on Valentines day was awesome from the array of tempting foods, to the beautiful decor and the entertainment. The same evening I had made reservations for a private dinner in the treehouse. We had a private waiter who met us at our room with champagne and escorted us to the treehouse. The atmosphere was romantic, the food outstanding and the service even better. During our dinner the Couples photographer came and took photos of us and then a saxophone player came and serenaded us. Couldn't have been any more romantic with the candles flickering and the tropical breeze.
As for the spa services, my husband and I had a couples massage at the spa which was very relaxing, listening to the zen music, the breeze through the palms and the birds singing.
The snorkeling was canceled the first few days we were there cause visibility was poor but when we finally got to go it was worth the wait, what a colorful array of fish and you can go as many times as you want, SO ENJOY! We never made the Cat cruise cause the time that it left the resort was nap time!
All the entertainment, whether it was the duo who sang at breakfast, or the guitarist who sang during the beach bonfire or the steel drum band show doing their rendition of Thriller, were all exceptional.
The staff could not have been any more courteous, friendly or hospitable and they all helped make our stay that much more comfortable. I want to thank each and every person who made our vacation everything it should have been. I especially want to thank Destin at guest relations, you ROCK! We never even met the people that took care of our room and making it inviting every day and night, with fresh flowers and towel sculptures, but we want to thank you for being proud of your job and showing it on a daily basis, so THANK YOU! And to all the wait staff, thank you for your attention to the details!
Our vacation at CN will never be forgotten and we look forward to going "BACK HOME"
Hopefully I can figure out how to post pictures and they will soon follow!!!!
Thank you for your review Janice; it brought back wonderful memories. So glad you had such a great trip. We were in the same room (8307)in Dec. 2008 and absolutely loved it! We are planning a return trip this Dec. but can't decide whether to return to CSS or CN.; not an unpleasant dilemma!!
P.S. I see you are from L.I.; I was born and raised in Whitestone.
Ahhh, What a GREAT Review!!! So glad you had such a Great Time, felt like we were right back @ CN! We stayed in Garden Suite 8207(or 8307) a couple of years ago - Absolutely LOVED it!! Never wanted to leave the "rainfall" shower! CN=Paradise! Hope you get to return soon!!

So glad to hear about your great experience, as we're heading to CN for the first time in several weeks and can't wait! Thanks for the preview! Let us know if there's anything else we should definitely do or know. This was helpful!
The cost for extras that we did were:
The couples massage that we did at the spa was I believe $100ppUS, you can go on main page of the resort you will be staying at and go to the left side of the page and go to spa and there you will be able to open the spa "menu" for all the services and costs. To have the massage done on the beach or in the treehouse it is extra $10ppUS, so I decided to have it done at the spa and it was just as awesome. They had ZEN music playing and through the slatted shutters you could hear the waves, rustle of the palms and the birds singing. Just writing about it makes me relaxed. As for the private dinner, we had it in the treehouse and it was $170US. The only drawback was the height and distance from the restrooms and the distance for our server to go to the kitchen. But it was beautiful and romantic and something I am glad we experienced it because I believe that CN is the only place we would be able to experience a candlelight dinner in a Treehouse. During the evening the resort photographer came and took pictures which have to be purchased and also the resort saxophone player came and serenaded us during dinner. Keep in mind I did both of these extras as it was my husbands 40th and we were also celebrating our 10th anniversary. Whatever you chose to do CN ROCKS with the extras or not. If we are lucky enough to return to CN I am not so sure I would have another private dinner but I would definately do the massage.
Enjoy and One Love
