Just curious - for CSA for 2012, the Atrium went from being the least-expensive category (as it is in 2011) to the third-least expensive category. Is there a reason for that?

Thanks Randymon! I would like to clarify the resort credit... am I to assume that the credit is only received for 7 PAID nights? So if we won the photo contest we would have to spend 10 at one location to receive the credit?

I wondered about that too but also noticed that the lowest three categories were not always in the same price order depending on the date. Sometimes the Atrium is more expensive than the other(s) and sometimes it isn't. It was like that last year and now I just noticed that the GVS is more expensive than the Atrium in the April-Aug time frame. It doesn't really matte to me as I plan on booking and Atrium in Aug anyway, but I had been wondering about that.

If we book 7 nights and one resort and 7 at another to make a two weeks consecutive stay, do we get a $300 credit at each resort?

Also, I would like to book this all together so I can do the $100 a month payment plan, is that possible? I assume I could book it online and do two payment plans but then I would be paying $200 a month. Thanks!!

Question for Randy: Why does it say "(On Request)" on the rates for the Penthouse Ocean Suite at CSS?

Not to put words into the mouth of a marketing genius like Randymon, but I suspect that the laws of supply & demand play a role... I think the real question is where the demand for certain room categories comes from.

The newer verandah suites were quite popular soon after the expansion was completed a few years ago; perhaps the novelty is wearing off and the the mini-market within the SweptAway faithful is beginning to exert itself... who knows?

Thanks for the updated pricing, Randy... it gives us something to shop with!

It's gone back to where it used to be.Could never understand why went to lowest rate this year as it was such a popular choice. Can honestly say even if third category would book it in a heartbeat.this year was a bonus to those who booked.

shame it can't be used for scuba

I think it is odd that for last year during the early booking period you were inticed with $500 resort credit and a two catagory upgrade. This year to get us back early only $300 resort credit. That is about a $1000 difference for a 7 night stay!!! I don't think things have picked up that much??

    Randymon,
Would you please clarify if the credits can be used for the night snorkle trips. I see that scuba and night scuba are not included but not sure if that means the night snorkle too. Would like to try it out on our next visit.
    Thanks, Karon

We plan to come for 2 weeks. If I book each week under a seperate reservation, would I get $300 each week?

guess I'll chime in too with a question...can the resort credit be used towards extras w/ vow renewals....eg: photo packages, cocktail hour....

I will try to answer several questions at once.

    1. Atrium Suites - The category order change was a decision taken as a result of overwhelming consensus from guests who booked the Atrium Suite this past winter. It is clear that these guests do not view being offered an "upgrade" to a Greathouse or Garden Verandah Suite as an upgrade. Normal resort business sometimes requires overselling of the minimum category in order to fill a resort. In such cases, guests appreciate the offer of an upgrade. The distinctiveness of the Atrium Suites and loyalty of guests who treasure these rooms will now be priced as the category above both Greathouse and Garden Verandah Suites.

    2. Yes, you must stay for 7 or more PAID nights to earn the credits.

    3. Yes, if you pay for 7 or more nights at two different Couples Resorts, you will earn $300 resort credits to be spent at each resort. No, if you book two 7 night stays back-to-back at the same resort.

    4. Yes, the LoveAway payment plan is valid for 2012 bookings as well.

    5. Resort credits may not be used on any night dives, including night snorkling.

    6. RE: Vow renewal extras, only photographs at this time.

    7. Where do you see the Penthouse Ocean Suites "on request"? There are only 9 of these fabulous rooms. When we get down to only one or two available, I would advise our booking partners that they are on request.

I understand the use of credits and just to clarify, If I book 7 nights at Couples Negril, I recive a $300 credit, then I switch to Couples Swept away for another 7 nights, concurrently, I receive another $300 resort credit for them. So while I am staying a total of 14 nights, 7 at 2 places I receive a total of $600 in credits $300 for each. That is pretty awesome in my book. Now to just book the rooms.

Only 9 days till home in Negril.

Awesome!!! We were concerned this might happen to us, so I'm glad to hear this is the rationale behind the change. Thank you!

Thanks for the answers! I am really happy to hear about the Atrium's upgrade as it is our favorite room. I was getting a little worried that you guys might be tempted to change them to be more like GVS and that would be a real disappointment. Those screens and the lovely breeze makes the room! It would really not be an upgrade to us if we were given a GHVS or something like that. I think you are exactly right, those rooms are very distinctive and that's why we love them.

I'm not sure if number 4 was for me or not. I am wondering if it is possible to do one LoveAway plan for a stay that involves two resorts. I want to stay 7 nights as CSS and then another 7 nights at CSA so we would be there for 14 consecutive nights. Can that be put into one LoveAway plan so I can pay $100 a month or do I need to do two plans (one for each resort) and pay $200 total each month? Thanks!!

    Hi Randymon,
It states "On Request" on the Special Offers tab for the Penthouse Ocean Suites price list for CSS.

    Thanks for all you do!!!

    Randy,

It's on the "Special Offers" tab, "Early Escapes" section, "Couples Sans Souci" section:

    http://couples.com/04special-2012-RATES.htm#CSS

The title for "Penthouse Ocean Suite" states "Penthouse Ocean Suite (On Request)" just like the Hibiscus Cottage does.

    Thanks, Randy

On Request means you have to call Couples directly to book - you or your travel agent but you cannot do it on-line.

That's what I thought but I swear it gave me an option to book a penthouse when I was pricing out a trip to CSS just the other day.

I'm glad to hear that in the future there won't be a chance of getting a GHS or GHVS instead of an Atrium Suite. My concern is what about the 2011 bookings? Are we guaranteed that we'll get the Atrium Suite we booked? I sure hope so, since for my husband and myself anything else would be considered a downgrade. Can't understand how Couples didn't realize all along how much the Atriums were loved by many of the repeat guests.

Actually, my travel agent and I figured it out.

It's a typo in the web page. The "(On Request)" should be on the Prime Minister's Suite and not the Penthouse Suites. You don't have to call to book the Penthouse Suite (which we booked today for next January!!!) but you do have to call for the Prime Minister's Suite which currently does not say "(On Request)".

Randy - Again, this is on the 2012 rates page.
