Good luck to the National culinary team of Jamaica who will be participating in Taste of the Caribbean to be held at Hyatt Regency, Miami, in the United States of America, from June 22 to 26. Featuring our own Chef Anthony Miller of Couples Swept Away and Winston Murdock of Couples Tower Isle!
Taste of the Caribbean is one of the Caribbean's prestigious food and beverage events and it provides patrons and participating chefs with an exciting culinary competition. The annual event offers an opportunity to network, polish professional skills and cheer on colleagues in competition before a large audience of industry peers and consumer culinary enthusiasts.
Multifaceted expert team
While this is not Jamaica's first time being a part of this culinary journey, the 'Irie team' comprises some of the island's top chefs. They are: team pastry chef Veejooruth Purmessur, Sandals International; team manager, Steve Sowa, executive chef, Half Moon; team captain Michael Dannecker, executive chef, Hilton Rose Hall; team chefs Dwight Watkis (executive chef, Mystic Dining & Caterers), Kevin Broderick (executive chef, Rock House & Push Cart) and Anthony Miller (executive chef, Couples Swept Away); team coach Ravi Anne (executive chef, Jewel Dunn's River resort); team bartender Fritzgerald Haughton (Half Moon); team assistants, Shaneica Case (Super Clubs) and Winston Murdock (pastry supervisor, Couples Tower Isle); and junior chef Rochelle (sous chef, Tracks & Records).
