Default Are loungers a problem at CN?

There seems to be a growing amount of frustration both on this board and on TA about the lack of loungers at CSA. Is this as big of a problem at CN?

Not really interested in hearing the debate about people reserving chairs be re-opened, just want to know if it is in fact difficult to find chairs at the beach or the pool on a normal day!

Thanks everyone, 21 days till I get to see what "home" is all about!

Of the 6 trips that we have been to CN, there has been plenty of Chairs on the beach. There are usually many of them that go unused during the day on the beach. The pool, can at times, be a little hard to get a "front row" pool chair, but there is always plenty of chairs somewhere on the pool deck also. There is 'no problem" on the chair issue.

We were at CN in May of 2010 and there was never an issue in locating a lounger as you are calling them. At times it got crowded around the shade tree close to the wedding spot when we had to all move to the one big seagrape tree there. There were always loungers around the pool when we walked by and also on the beach.

Hopefully we will not encounter a problem when we return on May 19th. 93 days and a wakeup.

Typically at CN, no, it is not a problem.

On our recent trip 3 weeks ago, we did have to look around a bit to find 2 chairs one day after coming back to the beach from lunch. That particular day we noticed the beach had a lot more people than other days (which was odd b/c it was mid-week). Note we were in the middle, more populous area of the beach and if we'd gone to either end (toward the watersports hut or toward the nude beach) I suspect we would've found 2 more easily.

Around the pool, it also is typically not an issue. One day the area of the pool by block 6 looked a bit busy, but I suspect that was because of a rather rowdy 2PM pool volleyball game going on at the other end (guests escaping the shouts of the game to rest in quiet at their end of the pool).

We have been at CN the past two years headed back the end of June and we never had a problem getting a lounger on the beach. We stay on the beach most of the day, never been in the pool. You should be okay, go and enjoy yourself

We've been to CN 15 times since 1999 and have never had a problem finding a pair of lounge chairs and a nice spot on the beach.

We went in June, so probably not the busiest resort time, but we had absolutely no problem finding a pair of lounge chairs on the beach. And this is to be said about nearly any time of day. The hammocks are another topic, but Im not a hammock fan anyway, especially with two. The shade does become an issue at times if you so desire to be under a tree for part of the time. And I saw no foul in grabbing a couple of chairs and moving them around a little to suit our needs. Go and enjoy!

I'd say "No, it's not a problem to find a lounger at CN". We've been there 5X (with trip #6 booked) at different times of year & have never seen it ever be a problem. If you want an umbrella at the pool, it is a problem unless you get there early or are there later in the afternoon but there is lots of shady spots anyway due to the trees & plants if you're wanting shade but there are normally chairs available .... Same on the beach. When we were just at CN at Christmas, the resort was pretty well full & there was never a problem. It's a much smaller resort than CSA.

No, not at all. Go ahead and reserve a couple early in the morning on the beach and a couple more at the pool. You certanly don't need to, but no one will care. There are so many loungers and shade at CN that is is never a problem. Hit the beach a 3pm and easily find loungers and shade at the pool or on the beach.

    Hi jwrichte,

When we were at CN in December, there were plenty of loungers at all times of the day. You may have to wheel it into the shade, but that was also plentiful at all times. This year, though, we noticed a marked decline in the number of lounge pads/floaties available. There were probably half of the loungers without pads, and many were in pretty poor shape (ripped, mildew). I heard someone post that more are on order, hope they get replenished by the time you arrive!

It was not at all for us last year in March, our first trip...even though there a lot of folks there, it isn't crowded at all we thought. The AN certainly had loungers if that helps too

There are plenty of loungers in both places. The problem is, as you mentioned, too many people reserving more then they need. We go out late morning and never have issues, may have to drag one to a shadier spot, but that is the most problem we have ran into. Will let you know when we get back, will be there in 28 hours.

We never had a problem. Sometimes we had to move them from other areas, tho.

We visited Couples Negril the last week of January this year. All though the resort seem to be full, loungers were never a problem. We traveled with 2 other couples and then met another group of 4 couples while there. We didn't go early and reserve a chair at the beach or pool, yet always found available loungers when we wanted them. I've never experienced this as a problem at any of Couples Resorts. Be sure and visit Franklyn at the pool bar, he is the best. Have a Great Trip HOME!!!

At the beach - No. At the pool - Yes. There was only one day out of the seven we were there that we could get loungers around the pool during the day - and they were only available after a brief storm since most headed inside. We never had an issue at the beach, there were always a lot available so that is where we stayed. We'd go to the pool bar and leave our stuff on the beach. We also weren't up at the crack of dawn either - We were hitting the beach anywhere from 9-10am.

Have fun!! It was just our first time there and we fell in love with CN!! Going back in October!!

Not at all! Never had a problem at the pool or beach at anytime of day! All of the loungers have the floaties on them. We've stayed @ CN the past 3 years and will be back again in December. NO PROBLEM!

Even when the resort is at 100% capacity, there are still a lot of loungers. You will have a great time!

Finding an open lounger at CN is never a problem no matter what time you hit the beach or pool.

Hahaha.. Funny how many responses this got since there were no updates to the board yesterday. Thanks everyone for your responses! It seems rather overwhelmingly that the answer is "No problem Mon!"
