I surprised my hubby with a Private Dinner at CTI a few trips back and it was awesome!! The staff was in on the surprise and helped me with it. While you can contact them prior, like Wally said above, they don't actually schedule it until you arrive and confirm it. And you might want to wait until you get there so you can check out the nightly schedule in case there is something you don't want to miss. Actually Amy, I had the location, the date and time reserved that far in in advance. Talk to Sharie and she will set it all up for you.
That's who I had emailed Wally. Maybe it was just that particular time and something happened. Sharie did the same for me, but when I got there, they told me they don't confirm anything until you arrive in case you change your mind. Plus this was a few trips ago, 2007 I think. But it worked out and I got the same time. It's a moot point because we both had great private dinners!!
Thank you so much everyone, I will e-mail Sharie and once there confirm. I hope I DO get to surprise my husband!..... We had our Honeymoon at CTI 30 years ago. I can't wait to see ALL the changes. When we were there waaaay back then, part of the AI was free cigarettes at the bars! Imagine that!
First I will preamble that I have not been to couples before, but I have read several times in reviews that many reservations made ahead of time are lost and you have to remake everything when you get there. That being said, I also see a lot of people on these boards saying that they never had a problem.
We will see, we get there Nov 11 with certain amenities suposed to be in the room. Then we have a private dinner and our SPA services all set up. If any of that disappears I will be pretty disappointed as Sharie arranged everything and I followed up until I got confirmation that all was good.
I will post if I have any problems after the trip.
They will also provide a CD player if you would like to bring some special music for the occasion. Sharie set that up for me also, but I did reconfirm everything when we arrived at the resort just to be sure. Plus, I had to pay for it after we arrived. I could have paid for it in advance if I had felt comfortable with putting my credit card info in an email, but I chose not to do that. Sharie also got copies of the available menus from both restaurants that cater the private dinners at CSS for me to look over before we arrived. I also could have chosen those in advance. The staff was great in keeping it a secret from my wife until the waiter arrived at the CSS wedding gazebo with menus. The dinner was amazing and the private waiter was great!
