Room questions for CSA
I'm having a hard time understanding the map and need to pick our rooms for our Nov/Dec Anniversary. Can someone help fill me in. I copied some of this from another thread that was for CN so I apologize if it looks familiar.
GREAT HOUSE VERANDAH SUITE - is this close to the ocean and the lap pool?
GARDEN VERANDAH SUITE- which buildings and do they have an ocean view?
ATRIUM SUITE- which buildings and do they have an ocean view?
OCEAN VERANDAH SUITE-which buildings....
BEACHFRONT VERANDAH SUITE
GREAT HOUSE JACUZZI SUITE
Can anyone help with filling in the ? I'm sure they are all great rooms, but the reviews vary so greatly. We would like to be next to a pool, see the ocean/beach and be somewhat centrally located.
Thank you for all of your help.

Great house Verandah = by the swim up bar located in the building where restraunt Patios, casino, night club
Garden Verandah = are typically located in the back portion of the property along the road as you may, however some are further in proximity to the road than others.
Ocean Verandah are located between the beach and garden verandah some may have views of ocean but some may be obstructed due to the beautiful vegatation.
beachfront suite = dont need to say much on this one note it has been mentioned that the view is spectacular it is right on the beach path dont know if that matters.
You really cannot go wrong!!! You will have some diehard repeaters that absolutly love the atrium suites which were on the original side of the resort closer to the palms restraunt. Then you will have people that swear by the new garden verandahs. We personally stay in the Garden Verandah suite.
Unfortunatly you are unable to reserve a specific room, but based on your recomendation of wanting to be close to pool, see the beach, and be centrally located. The Greathouse Jacuzzi suite will nail 2 of those. you will be close to the pool-swim up pool bar and I hear they have spectacular views. Have fun choosing.

You're never really very far from any of the facilities at SweptAway... and a central location would get you closest to everything... this would be either an Atrium or an Ocean Verandah Suite. However, getting "close" to the amenities with an accommodation doesn't work unless you're staying in either of the GreatHouse categories or in any of the Suite blocks close to the Great House.
The lap pool is at the sports complex across the street. None of the accommodations is nearby. If a view of the ocean is critical, you need to book Beachfront or BF Verandah, although a few of the Atriums and Ocean Verandahs have nice views.
As far as position, relative to the beach, the categories (in order of distance from the beach) are...
Beachfront is beachfront... for real
Atriums are behind the Beachfront Suites in the "old" section
Ocean Verandahs are behind the Beachfront Verandah's in the "new" section
Garden Verandahs are furthest from the beach
The GreatHouse Complex at the south end of the resort includes the Great House Verandah and Great House Jacuzzi Suites
Hope that helps...Chris

At CSA it is really not possible to have a room that's next to a pool, where you can see the ocean/beach and be centrally located. The pools are at either end of the resort so the nearest rooms that would have an ocean/beach view would be the Beachfront Suites (closest to the main pool) and Beachfront Verandah Suites or Great House Suites (closest to the swim-up bar pool). Garden Verandah Suites are furthest away from the ocean so no ocean view. Ocean Verandah Suites are situated between the Garden and Beachfront Verandah Suites so you get a partial view of the ocean/beach. Atruim Suites are situated in-between the Beachfront Suites and the Garden Verandah Suites so you may be able to just see the ocean but most likely not. The lap pool and fitness area is across the street from the main entrance and is not near the ocean. Hopefully this helps answer your questions about the layout of CSA.
Enjoy your anniversary!

GREAT HOUSE VERANDAH SUITE - these rooms are located in The Great House. The rooms are above Patios and the swim up bar is just outside below. Most have "resort views" which means you dont have a specific view, rather looking over the side of the resort. Some have a partial ocean view but no way to know which view you'll get.
GARDEN VERANDAH SUITE- spread through out the resort. These do not have ocean views, rather they have garden/tropical views. They all have a tv, and a large verandah. You may end up being able to see bits of the beach or ocean, but it's just a random chance.
ATRIUM SUITE- these rooms have the most "Caribbean feel". No ocean views (some you can get a peek at the beach). Air conditioned, but no glass on the windows, just screened. You do have large wooden shutters that provide privacy. No tv in this room. Some are located closer to the beach and some are closer to the road. The best part is the large verandah with your own private hammock.
OCEAN VERANDAH SUITE- again these are located on the ocean facing sides of the buildings. Partial ocean views.
BEACHFRONT SUITE - closer to the beach, with nice views of the ocean. Older rooms without tvs (unless they have changed this).
BEACHFRONT VERANDAH SUITE -these rooms have a great ocean view and are located on the closest buildings to the beach across the width of the beach. Large verandas.
GREAT HOUSE JACUZZI SUITE - one of my favs. This room I think has the best ocean view, however it has more of a hotel feel, but still very Jamaican and Caribbean. These rooms are in the great house and are overlooking the swim up bar and the beach grill. They also have an in room jacuzzi, which we only used once. But the view was so worth it.
You may want an ocean verandah or beach verandah suite. The property is not huge and takes about 5-10 min to walk from one end of the beach to the other. They are the most central and will provide a good to great view of the ocean/beach. Also, there is a pool on both sides. All the rooms are great, but no hotel will be able to guarantee where your room will be. The hotel is made up of several different buildings and the rooms are spread out through the buildings. Good luck!

I beg to differ, ocean verandas are behind the bfvs and not on the ocean you might get a partial view of the ocean
