I decided to use Diana Campbell for my photography and videography. We chose Diana because photos and a video were key (we did not want to hire 2 people), her photos online looked beautiful, and her prices were reasonable. We booked 2 days with her because I wanted some pictures off-resort, not in my wedding dress. I also did not want time constraints to be an issue. She also had good personal contact, calling me when I was deciding on photographers, which eased my mind in booking a stranger. She also kept in touch leading up to the wedding, which I appreciated
Diana arrived at the salon the morning of my wedding sometime between 9 and 9:30AM (my wedding was at 11) to take pictures of the hair and makeup process. When my hair and makeup was done, I had a chance to finally meet and talk with Diana Campbell and her team. She was with her son, Richard Brown. They also had an apprentice with them, Alton. They were all very friendly.
We headed back to the room. They did some photography of my dress, shoes, accessories. My husband got back around this time, so we got a couple of pictures with me looking him over after he got dressed. During the ceremony, cake cutting, first dance, Diana and team took photos and video.
After the formal wedding stuff, we took pictures in the lobby, out by the Swept Away sign. We headed across the street because my husband, the gym nut, wanted pictures at the gym. One the way, we took pics on a golf cart and a tractor. We took pictures on the elliptical and treadmill. We even went next door and took pictures jumping on the trampolines. A few pictures playing pool, and we hit the beach for pictures. Pretty pictures on the beach, on one of the hobie cats, and then the scary part...
A mini trashing of the dress. My husband really wanted to do it. I was unsure. Finally I agreed and the two of us held hands and went running into the water, well until my dress weighed me down and I could not run anymore. The pictures of us running into the water are gorgeous. We took a few more pictures lying in the sand after going in the water. Then the type A personality in me wanted to get the sand off of my dress. A few more pictures rinsing off in the beach shower and by 1:45, we were done for the day.
For our second day of photos, we set out at 7AM to avoid the worst of the heat. We took some pictures down the road from a resort by the stand of a man with 2 cute dogs that did a bit of photobombing! We drove to the ruins of an old port and took some pictures there. We then headed toward Mayfield Falls. I described that in my overall review of my trip to CSA, but again, it was great. Richard got some really great pictures of us in the falls and on the paths down to the falls.
We headed back to the resort between 12 and 1 and were told we would get our DVD, DVD slide show, and pictures 2 days later. Sure enough, we did and we watched them. Slight mix-up with one song on the DVD - it was not one we had chosen. We pointed it out to Diana, and we had a new DVD with the correct song the next day. I think our DVD ended up with 6 songs on it, running about 16 minutes covering hair and makeup, getting ready, ceremony, cake cutting, first dance, and running into the water.
If I could do it over again, there are 2 things I would request. First, I would have liked a nice posed photo of my husband and me in the beach gazebo. We only have ones of us walking out after the ceremony. The ones during the ceremony are close up. I would have liked a wide posed one that would show all of the gazebo, a few trees, the water, etc. Although, that could be a tough picture to capture because it is a public beach. We do have one that we had her take with our camera, but it would have been nice to have one with the professional camera. Second, in starting to look at albums and design of them, it would have been nice to have some pictures without us in it to use a background for album pages. All of our photos (except for the dress and accessories) have us in them. Although I did not know it at the time, it would have been nice to have some pictures of just the beach and water or just the wedding gazebo or just the foliage in the gardens. That would have given us options for backgrounds, given that now we will probably end up using more generic backgrounds from whatever website we use to design our album.
From the 9-10 hours hours we spent with Diana and team (including some driving time), we have just over 500 pictures, somewhere around 375 of the wedding day and 125 of the next day. My first thought was that I was a bit sad not to have ALL of the photos because more photos were taken, given the gaps in photo numbers. However, upon reflection, I am glad to have the work done of removing ones where we were blinking, funny expressions, etc. It would have been a pain to sort through and now, we have only beautiful album-worthy photos to sort through.
Overall our photos, DVD slide show and DVD turned out wonderfully. I could not be happier. When our mothers watched the DVD, they both cried. She captured it beautifully. Our friends and family have commented on how beautiful our pictures are.
Diana, Richard and Alton were a pleasure to work with. My husband does not generally like having his picture taken in any kind of formal setting, but they were great in making our pictures fun to take. That truly made all of the difference. If my husband and I had not been enjoying ourselves, it would have shown in the pictures. But because we were genuinely happy and enjoying suggesting crazy things like getting onto a tractor to take pictures or my husband wearing his rastafarian cap with dreds, our pictures reflect his happiness and mine. There are so many pictures of us laughing and just having a wonderful time, and Diana, Richard and Alton were instrumental in making that happen.

Upon doing my research of hiring a photographer, the number one thing I kept reading was have a list of requested pictures for your photographer. When I had brought this up to Diana, she said "No need to worry, we'll take care of you" which is great, but I also want some of the typical posed shots and some new funny ones I have recently seen on Pinterest. I would also love to see your pictures!!
Did either of you book your wedding as a package that included an on site photographer? I told our coordinator that we hired an off site photographer and she had said that we can still use our arranged photographer for another day then. (rehersal dinner, trash the dress, etc.)

Beautiful Pictures..You got married on my birthday We are getting married at CSA Sept 18th at 4pm. All I hear is how it rains at that time. Looks like you guys had good weather. Was the heat horrible? I hired Stacey Clarke but looked into Diane Campbell.
It was threatening to rain, but Diana was telling us that the overcast clouds make for the best lighting for pictures. We stayed for 7 days and it only rained once so I wouldn't worry too much.
We are from Texas, so it was actually cooler in Jamaica than we are used to. We were a little sweaty by the end of the ceremony, but honestly, when it's the greatest day of your life you really don't even notice!
