Default Best time of day to trsf from Negril to Ochi?

We are just a couple days away from our trip!

We will be at Couples Negril from 8/16 to 8/20, and then we transfer to San Souci on the 20th for 7 nights. The 20th is a Tuesday, so I am guessing that there may be some traffic when we go through Montego Bay?

For those of you who have done this transfer on a weekday, I would appreciate advice on the best time of day to make the switch, assuming of course that we have a choice.

We would like to be at San Souci between 12 and 1 - late enough where our room might possibly be ready and we can have lunch and enjoy the day. What time should we leave Negril? Is 9 too early? If we leave at 10 is that too late? Will we hit traffic at either of those times? Are we likely to have to make a stop at the airport?

Thanks in advance for your advice!

    Hi,
We transferred at 7 am, before breakfast at CN, in order to get through MoBay before the heavy traffic. That worked great, but when we got to San Souci, our room wasn't ready, and we were too early for lunch, but too late for breakfast. So, your plan sounds good. You won't have a stop at the airport, unless they've changed their procedure. Allow three hours. We stopped at a restaurant for our driver's breakfast about a half hour from Ochi, but didn't stay long. Enjoy yourself!

Done it 4 times. Always leave at 6:00am and miss the traffic in Montego Bay. Takes 2 hours and 15 minutes. You can expect a 3-4 hour trip if you leave later in the day. Your room probably won't be ready, but they will secure your stuff and you will have full run of the resort. We have always had a private transfer (provided free by Couples) and never stopped at the airport. People who leave later have reported stopping at the airport, which will add even more time to the trip.

When we transferred from CSS to CN, we did not get to pick the time because another couple from CTI were with us, and because CTI is the farthest , they got to pick the time. We left at 10:30 on a Monday and were in Negril by 1:00. It worked out perfect, we had plenty of time to pack and have breakfast, and were at CN by lunch. No need to get up at 5 to leave by 6 if you are not a morning person.

So, we can request our transfer from CSS to CN early in the am? That will be perfect! Wo do I need to talk with about arranging that?
