CN Weddingmoon Review Dec 14-21. 2013
We had a fabulous time. CN never disappoints!
This was my 4th time to the resort, but my husbands 1st. He was insistent that I didn't tell him anything beforehand so he could experience it all for himself. By the 2nd day he was so happy that I had already made reservations to return next year. As soon as we returned home, he started his own countdown clock. So funny as he gave me a hard time this past year with mine, but he now has one started for December 2014.
We arrived on Saturday am at 11:30. I had paid for Club MoBay as this was our weddingmoon and I wanted it to be extra special. Turns out there were no lines, but it was nice to be greeted off the plane and made to feel special. Jeff also enjoyed the rum punch and snacks in the Club MoBay lounge. Great start to a fabulous week.
We didn't make a stop along the way. I think most of the couples on the bus would have enjoyed a bathroom break, as most of us bolted off the bus and ran to the bathroom. Upon returning from the restroom we were greeted with cool towels and champagne. We were handed our paperwork to finish filing out and were quickly escorted to our room. 7104. I've never had a ground floor room, but I loved it!!!! We so enjoyed sitting on our patio and enjoying the view.
We met with Sasha the next day at noon to go over the details for the wedding. Sasha was so wonderful. I was undecided on some of the details and she walked me through the decisions. Poor thing, the day before the wedding I still wasn't sure on things and ended up changing my cake and flower colors. She was so easy to work with and made it all seem so simple.
Monday night we ate the repeater's dinner with Wayne (General Manager). Had a lovely time with him. He let us know that the bathroom upgrades were going to take a couple of years. They will slowly do each building as bookings will allow. He also told us of the new locks that were installed on each of the doors. Ours was changed over while we were there. They no longer have keys, but now are a card system. Pretty cool as you just wave the card over the lock and it unlocks it. No insertion needed. I really like the new locks.
Wednesday was the wedding. I had my hair and make-up done at the salon. I highly recommend doing this. The wedding was at 10am and my hair still was perfect at night when we had our dinner on the beach despite having taken a nap.
The wedding was very precious. We love Pastor Rose. He performed a beautiful ceremony. We had a really great time walking around the property with the photographer taking pictures. The pictures turned out great. The only downside to the entire week was we were pressured into spending more money on our pictures than I had budgeted. In the end it all worked out and I spent less than I had budgeted. Just had to stand my ground.
We did the private dinner on the beach for our wedding dinner. This was the most romantic thing I have ever done! Jeff also loved it. Was a very special and fabulous time. At the end of the dinner we released "wish lanterns". Great ending to a fabulous day.
Thursday we went on the Sunset Cruise. I was very concerned as Jeff gets sea sick. Not one problem, he was perfectly fine. We had a great time sliding off the slide into the ocean. The sunset on the way back to the resort was breath taking. Best catamaran cruise I have taken.
Friday night was our last night there and we had dinner at Otaheite. Fabulous dinner with impeccable service. Jeff is in the service industry and he was very impressed. The lobster melted in your mouth and I also loved the crab cake appetizer.
We also had Club MoBay on the way home. I highly recommend it. We were able to pass long waiting lines for security. The lounge was very nice and relaxing with comfy chairs. Nice snacks and drinks. All included. We will always do Club Mobay both coming and going. Well worth the $.
Most of the week was spent R&R-ing. We had a fabulous time. Very restful and stress-free wedding.
We can't wait to get back 'home' in 353 days.
