We're arriving at about the same time on March 12. We booked arrival and departure just to be safe. Where are you staying? We're at CTI.

Nobody can tell how busy Sangster International Airport will be on any given day or time so far in advance. But if you do a little research on your own you can find out for yourself

Start by using the link below.
    http://www.mbjairport.com/arrivals

This gives the arrival schedule for Sangster. They only post the schedule for the current day. You will want to check this link on Wednesdays only as traffic can vary by day.

Check and see how many flights arrive within 30 minutes to an hour before your flight would arrive. Then it is time for a little math.

I figure on about 150 people per flight. There is no way to know for sure how many people there will actually be on these flights, but I think 150 is a good average.

Take the number of flights that arrive between about 30 minutes to an hour before you flight and multiply by 150. If there is a flight arriving within 5 minutes after your flight add this flight also as you will also encounter these people in the airport.

For example. If there are 8 flights arriving before your flight, times 150 = approximately 1200 people.

Repeat this process every Wednesday and you will soon see a trend.

This is what I did and this helped us to decide to use Club MOBAY for our next trip.

15 more days until we return to CTI. Getting a little closer every day.

We arrived Mar.1 last year which was a Fri. Wasn't sure if it would be busy but decided to go with Club Mobay. Very glad I did.
This year come in Feb.26 which is a Wed. Wasn't sure what to do but as Mad Jack suggested looked at incoming flights and I think there are 8 so am booking again. If the line isn't bad oh well. Hubby hates that immigration line so worth it just for the peace of mind.

I think we are on the same west jet flight. On the 12 th. We booked the club mobay this year arriving and departure. 160.00 USD. Last year we arrived on the same flight on the Wednesday and we had a 1.5 hour wait to get thru customs. On flight tracker it shows 5 planes landing with in 10 mins of 1:50 pm arrival time.

Oh, and I forgot to say, you can also check out flightstats.com and see the listing of all arriving flights for your particular day of the week and time frame. It also shows you their on time performance, so you know if yours or other flights are typically late, and by how much.

We arrived on March 7th (Thursday) last year at about the same time. We had all of a 5 minute wait at the airport before we were through all the processing. It took us longer to actually walk to the different desks and locations than it did to get through the lines. Once at the lounge, we had time to give the staff our luggage, get a drink from the bar and mostly change our clothes. My wife got changed, and I was in the bathroom changing when they said they were loading the bus! We hadn't even finished our first beer! We left on a Saturday, and we DID book the departure lounge. Our flight left Jamaica at 1:10. The normal lines were not bad, but we were able to save a few minutes in the security lines. The best part about the departure services was the lounge itself. When you get there. They take your carryon baggage for you, and check it in, so you don't have to carry it around. You are then free to roam the airport, visiting all the shops and duty free, without the hassle of your carryon. The lounge itself has some very comfortable seating, as well as some TVs (the first time I had seen a TV turned on since leaving Chicago the week before!) They also have some VERY good complimentary snacks and sandwiches, ranging from ham and cheese sandwiches, to Jamaican patties, to sushi rolls. Plus they have a free bar where you can get pretty much anything you could get at the resort itself (I am not sure about top shelf liquors though). If you want a more actual sit down meal, they do have a full grill, but you have to pay for that stuff. The complimentary snacks they offered were MORE than enough for me. I think for all future trips, we will be booking the departure lounge. The arrival lounge will possibly be on a case by case basis, depending on how this next trip goes, and how much time it saves us.

It's such a gamble! You can look at the flight schedules but remember that it only takes a 30 minute or an hour delay from home, due to weather, to change the schedule and have you arriving around the same time as 3 other flights. The quickest we've ever been through Immigration and security without Club MoBay was when we arrived on a Monday, early afternoon. We have been through quickly on a Saturday early afternoon when our flight was about 15 minutes early.

Monobrow1 - who did you use to get your quote of $124 USD for 2 both ways? That would be a good deal, since I saw it as $80/person on the Club Mobay website.

Here's another question: Considering Couples has their own lounge, but you'll want to at least take advantage of the Club Mobay service also...How did you split your time or did you bypass Club Mobay lounge and just use the couples lounge. We'll be anxious to get back to "Couples" . This service wasn't available on our on our previous trips.

Can you do both? Is there time?

The actual mobay lounge is right next to the couples lounge, so once you are through the lines, I believe the mobay agent checks you in at the couples desk. It is your choice which one you sit in. The main difference between the two is the mobay lounge has snacks and other drinks available besides red stripe. I am pretty sure you can hop back and forth between the two, if you have enough time to do that before your shuttle leaves.

The past two years we have arrived on a Wednesday around 2:00 pm. Both times we were thru customs enjoying a Red Stripe in the Couples lounge in less than 15 minutes.

    Hi Artie

did you guys use Club MoBay to get into the Couples lounge in 15 minutes on the Wednesday? We arrive next Wednesday and I'm trying to determine if I should book MoBay or not.

No, we have never used Club Mobay. There was a very small line up in customs both years we arrived. We are flying on a Thrusday this year (Mar 13th... 27 more days!!! WOO HOO) and I would not even consider Club Mobay. Would rahter spend the money on a night out off the resort for dinner or a private dinner on the resort. Much more bang for your buck...

If you decide to wait at Cub Mobay Does someone let you know when the couples bus is ready to pick you up?

The last time we used it the Club Mobay Rep stayed with us and let us know when the Couples shuttle was ready.

Monobrow - thanks for the follow-up. Glad you can still get that low price and at least I know $160 is about the best I can get for 2 people!

We did Club MoBay in December. On arrival there were no lines, but we felt like VIPs being whisked off to the special lines and then getting the extra goodies at the Club MoBay Lounge. And then leaving was fabulous, being escorted right up to the front of all of the lines. We loved it. Doesn't matter what time of day or night we are coming or going, we are going to always use Club MoBay from now on.
