Jamaican Observer Newspaper- The public is being warned to be mindful of people offering assistance with luggage or posing as legitimate transportation service providers at the islandís two international airports.

According to an advisory from the police, the warning comes against the background of several reports that unscrupulous people, posing as transport operators at the airports, have been robbing unsuspecting victims.

The police say some of these individuals also offer to load or unload vehicles.

We just want everyone to have a safe and uneventful trip and be aware of this!

Please note that our transfers are included and the handlers are ALL legitimately employed by the transportation company and operate in a secured gated area outside of hotel arrivals.

Yes. Hold on to your bags and say "no thank you" to any offers of assistance until you make your way to the Couples lounge. At that point, legitimate transportation contractors will take your bags.
