I think the problem of cats on balcony's/veranda's is due to some guests feeling the need to feed the cats. Cats being cats will go where the food is or where is was the last time. If guests did not put food out for the cats and left them their own devices to find food naturally or if CSA had designated feeding stations for them then they would stay away from the balcony's. We had two cats sniffing around for food at our balcony one day, we shooed them away and they never came back because we did not put food out for them, obviously the previous guest must have. So don't feed the cats.

I am an animal lover, you obviously don't like cats. I would not enjoy my vacation knowing there was a hungry cat outside, and I have the ability to feed it. Sorry to offend but that's just how I roll.

I don't like the assumption of the anti animal folks that because they don't want them they shouldn't be there. There are plenty of people who DO like having them there and they have just as much of a right to "enjoy their vacation". It's no different than at home, if you don't like them, don't humor them. But to ask people to not feed them is just flat out cruel. You have every right to not feed them without having my personal opinion forced on you.

It shows concern for one person and one person only, imho.

I like animals but I do have a breathing problem with some. I wont be feeding the cats on my balcony/veranda because of this. If some people want to then that's fine by me but, please, don't encourage them into the restaurants.

Ditto to what Pebblesuk said in above post.

They "clip" their ears when they have been fixed. That way they know just by glancing at them.

It is my understanding that CSA provides "feeding stations" for the cats so I kindly would request that guests let the resort feed them there. I don't think guests should feed them on their balconies/verandahs. I do like the program that Couples seems to follow about fixing, vacinating and feeding them. And yes, I do LOVE animals, especially cats.

Maybe it's because I'm a crazy cat lady, but I'd totally pay more for a cat-friendly verandah. You know, like smoking/non-smoking rooms? 🐱

Wally, I'll bet those are the kittens that had JUST been born when we were there in September! We were in room 4316, and momma had them on the ledge on the floor below us. The babies were fresh out of the oven - their eyes weren't even open yet!

Just returned from CSA and loved seeing all the kitties! If you don't like them, shoo them or don't feed them. Hey! Can I do the same thing with inconsiderate smokers on the beach?! seriously, most people this trip were very considerate.

On a side note, there's a new large white bird who likes to eat off plates at the Cabana Grill! Pretty funny!
