Somewhere in the mid-'80s, my mother and I traveled to Ocho Rios for a little R&R. I don't remember where we were initially booked, but we were not impressed. I had a copy of Gourmet Magazine with me that had profiled the Sans Souci, and we decided to go there for dinner. We stayed two weeks and returned the following year.
20-odd years later, I was married at the Sans Souci, and we're heading back in a few weeks for our third trip together in as many years.
So if not for Gourmet magazine, things could be very different indeed. November will be the last issue. After almost 70 years, it's sad to see it go.
