    Default Flags at the beach????

In a few of the threads with pictures I have noticed different flags beside the beach chairs. I know this sounds like an odd question but what are the flags for?? Some of them are in the sand beside the chairs while others are at the tables. Just wondering what is up with them...I want to make sure I have all the knowledge when we get there..

Put your flag up and a waitress will come and take your order or, if they know you order, they will bring you another drink.

Flags in the sands are used to indicate that you are ready for a fruit kabob or a cool drink.

I am noticing that the closer I get to my leaving date, the more I reply to the threads. That is so awesome, however I have not seen any pics that show flags in the sand, fruit kabobs, etc. I like to get up and walk to the bar but that sounds great! I have never experienced that at another resort in Jamaica.

One year our group got 2 flags somehow at one point we looked like we were landing jets. Chalk it up to the rum punch. Thank goodness the great waitress we had had a great sense of humor.

Here is a shot of a flag in use at CSS:

I call 'em tip-ups. When asked by a Jamaican what a tip-up is, her eyes went wide as saucers. Precious!

we have just returned from CSS and were looking forward to using the flag system - but there were none to be seen. We were very disappointed about this.

Actually, at CN anyway, the bar staff bring the flags around in the AM and gather them in the evening.

The miniature flags for the tables at poolside is a newer thing, but I believe they also are gathered daily. We set a miniature flag up accidentally by the hot tub - just meaning to shows someone that they had them now - and the bar trainee showed up in seconds asking for our order. And it was pouring rain!! Classic (and classy) CN service.

My husband LOVED his red flag at CN. Quickly, they come and take your order as soon as you stand the flag up in the sand. I felt funny doing it at first but after awhile, it was heavenly. Here's a picture.
