    Default Beach

Am I correct in assuming that you can only walk CNs beach and not the beaches of the adjacent resorts. if so i guess we booked the wrong resort as we usually stay in Mexico where we can walk for hours, guess we should have booked CSA?

You can walk all up and down the beaches from all the resorts. CN has a shorter beach than CSA but you can still walk along the water in front of all the other resorts. We did it often last week.

bloody bay which cn is on is approx 1.5 - 1.7 miles
long bay which csa is on is approx 5 mile the two beaches however are not
connected so if you are at cn you are looking at 3-3.5 mile round trip max walk. suggestion would be to spend an afternoon cab it down to the end of long bay and stroll the 5 miles back

Can you walk to CNs beach to beaches of adjacent resorts that are on either side of CN or are you just limited to CNs beach? What reorts are adjacent to CN?

Yes, you can walk the beach in front of the adjacent resorts. The resort to the left (as you're facing the water) of CN is B, the resort to the immediate right of CN is R\. Further down the beach to the right is the Office of Nature and another R resort.

....Security will stop you and ask where you're from and what room number when you go from one resort beach to another. There are resorts on each side of CN.

the security will not stop you, they may ask for a room number as you pass by and thats really only if you start to head up towards the resorts. They will get to know you after that, no problem. B and R stand for other large all inclusive resorts and out of respect for couples we don't give them any advertisement here. For sure you picked the best resort in Negril. Couples rules. You can use google earth to cruise the beach and the resort names are tagged as you go past. Have fun

If you are at CSA you can walk for miles in either direction. We do not like the beach at CN because you are not only limited by walkable distance but there are no shops, restaurants, locals or much activity along Bloody Bay.
What you can do though, is grab a taxi from CN to the beach along Long Bay and walk for hours.

The other resorts mentioned above are Breezes and the RIU-

Thanks for all the responses but one more question, if my wife is walking the beach (waters edge) will she be stopped from continuing walking the beaches of R and B resorts.

    Columbo:

The security guards from the other resorts might approach you as you stroll by. If you just tell them that you are staying at Couples and are out for a walk they'll send you on your merry way. They are really just checking to see if you are a guest at their resort so they can check you back in. It's not a problem. Security is just trying to keep track of their own guests. The Couples security does the same thing for other people strolling the beach along the CN beachfront..

the security guards do not always stop you. If you just stroll by w/o looking at them there is a good chance they will not stop you.

the r resorts require a wristband for all inclusive so they are not as strict w/ guests walking on the beach.

B (old gl negril) is next door and they are more strict because after their textile beach you have to cross their pool to continue and walk through their a/n beach. It pretty much ends there because of the cliffs. The next resort is point village and then H and then S .

there is PLENTY of room to walk the beaches of bloody bay

Watch out for any blanket statement about children being in school. Many folks take vacations with their children at different times of year. Some school districts will consider a vacation on Jamaica a cultural experience that will broaden the horizons of many a child.

There are also the local children to consider, and they will be seen walking the beaches, too.

I'm only putting this out there as a statement for consideration.

Walking the beach in either direction is not a problemn. CN is the only resort that you do not have to wear an ID braclet, therfore security knows where you are from. CN security may ask you how long you will be gone or what room number you are in(more for your own safety I believe)we always say hi as we go by the security if we are walking the beach. We have also walked thorugh the other resorts to check them out(CN is the best) and we have never been approached. I believe if you are respectful to everyone else you will be treated the same way. Enjoy your walks, enjoy CN.

Thanks Fairbanklk and Chris, my wife was born and raised in Italy until 16 years old and topless is very natural to her, we select our locations to vacation with this being something she can feel comfortable with. We have been to Mexico numerous times and visit the French and Dutch Islands also for this reason, our last trip to Jamaica was our honeymoon and we were in Montego Bay and Negril was not what it is today so its been awhile since we have been to Jamaica, hence our questions and posts here to get some information and feel for Negril. To some it may be of no importance and to others it is I think the last time my wife has worn a top was at the New Jersey shore many many years ago and only than because it was a very large family re union.

Many people staying at CSA swim and sunbath topless, no one seems to care. If she decided to go Au Natural, then she would be stopped. The ocean front is open to everyone in jamaica. No resort can stop you or anyone else from walking on their property in front of their resort, just do not attempt to access their resort. I walk a lot and stayed at CSA for this reason. I walk so much by the second day the security guards at CSA knew my name and room number, and I just waved as I walked by. On the long stretch of beach at CSA i was never stopped by any other resort as I walked in front of their resorts. The other security guards usually waved at me as I walked by. I felt more secure knowing there were security guards around because I walk by myself, my husband can not take long walks.
