We are definately going back to Ricks Cafe and Margaritaville!(Love the margaritas at Margaritaville!)

    Thanks for any info

We will be arriving at CN on 2/27 and with only 24 more sleeps left, the excitement keeps building & building! With that being said, and with all the amenities at the resort(golfing, snorkeling, glass bottom boat, etc.), we feel that we will be fairly "busy" having FUN. We also intend to go to Rick's cafe as an outside excursion one eveing but didn't want to leave the resort for any full day excursions, this time around of course! If we go back to Jamaica another time, we might try YS Falls or some full day excursion.
One person mentioned in a past post that we should skip Margaritaville as one can go to a Margaritaville at other locations, i.e. Florida. So...now, I'm curious. Does anyone think Margaritaville is a MUST? As far as Rick's, is there a better day of the week or time of day that's best to go here? Transportation to and from? Appreciate comments!

If margaritas are your thing then Margaritaville is a must. The best margaritas I've tasted. (Also great fajitas)

If you are into nature a trip to the Royal Palm Reserve is just minutes down the road. Take a boat ride up the Negril River or take a taxi to it.

Negril Point Lighthouse is another great spot.

Ooooh, that Royal Palm Reserve looks very interesting. And only $10.00 admission? Wow, if the price on their website is accurate, that seems quite the bargain. Thanks for the link, Jim.

It's funny, when we first booked CN for the 4 nite leg of our stay, we were figuring on just hanging around the resort and pretty much doing nothing. After all, we will be spending the preceding 7 nites at CTI and have several activities planned, including DRF, horseback riding, and the Chukka ziplines. Plus it's at CTI where we get to cash in on our $350 spa credits.

So we're thinking by the time we hit CN, we'll just chill for those four days. Well, we still intend to do just that, but have since decided we want to do the night snorkel and partake in trading places with a visit to CSA (oh, and we're gonna do likewise for CSS as well). Now throw in this reserve too. Sheesh, I gotta stop reading this message board or else we're gonna run out of chill time!

Thanks to all for the info. The reserve looks neat and only $10.

Does anybody know where Pee Wees is?

    steverandlinda:

Same question as cwatson48: PeeWees location? How to get there?

Spending time w/locals is most appealing...for us newbies, how to get to these places, i.e. cliffs - walk down the beach? Cab? Day or night? Safe???

Our 8 nights just is not going to allow for all the things we want to do - should have stayed at least 10 nights, like we first discussed! What were we thinking by shortening it to 8???

    Thanks for the info!

Be careful of the 'sand gravity'!!! We had every intention to do some excursions and didn't.

as loverum pointed out sand gravity is pretty intense
google pee wee's or check out negril.com
safe is what you make it whether it is negril or nyc or
    bumblef%ck.
Pee wees is in the west end best bet talk to your fav bartender chances are they know a driver or a local who can hook you up with a west end tour. For a few buck they will take you out to the west end wait for you and allow you to mingle in some of the smaller less touristy places.
At night is when the action heats up normally after 11 so do a lil research and what the local places offer.... before you go this way you have some idea when you decide.

if you do anything spned one afternoon walking long bay and sipping cocktail at the local places
one evening in the cliffs do it early in the stay before sand gravity takes hold lol enjoy
