    Default

Here is one that I have not tried, but it was posted on the message board some years ago:

1 can sweetened condensed milk, 14 oz.
    1 cup heavy cream
1 1/2 cups Myers dark rum (I'm sure any good dark rum will suffice)
    3 tablespoons chocolate syrup
    4 teaspoons instant coffee
    1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    1/2 teaspoon coconut extract
    1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

whisk together and refrigerate 48 hrs.

From what I remember it was pretty highly regarded by those that had used it. Maybe some others will have additional suggestions for some home brew. Hope it turns out for you.

    Default Rum Cream Recipe

I have two recipes but have only tried the first one since it is so easy to make. It's not Sangsters, but in a pinch it's not too bad. Just be sure not to blend it too long or the cream will begin to peak. I made that mistake once when I was distracted by something. What a waste.

    Rum Cream
    • 1 can (14oz) sweetened condensed milk.
    • 1 cup Dark Rum.
    • 1 Cup Heavy Cream (or Half & Half)
    • 2 Tbsp Chocolate Syrup.
    • 4 Tsp instant coffee (or Fresh Brewed)
    • ½ tsp ground cinnamon.
    • ½ tsp vanilla extract.
    • ¼ tsp coconut extract.

    1. Combine all ingredients in a blender and whirl at high speed for a few minutes until blended and smooth.
    2. Serve over ice immediately or store in tightly covered container in refrigerator for up to two weeks.
    3. Stir before serving...Yum!

    Rum Cream Liqueur
1 Can Sweetened Condensed Milk (14 oz.)
    1 Cup Heavy Cream
    1 1/2 Cup Amber Rum
    1 oz Dark Caramel Syrup
    2 oz Gourmet Chocolate
    4 tsp Instant Coffee
    1 tsp Vanilla Extract
    1 tsp Goldschlager Liqueur

    1. Put cream in a pot and bring to a simmer
    2. Add the chocolate to the cream and stir until completely melted
    3. Remove the pot from the heat source
    4. Add the sweetened condensed milk, instant coffee, vanilla, caramel to the pot
    5. Stir until completely combined
    6. Add the rum and Goldschlager and stir
    7. Using a hand or stick blender, blend for two minutes to emulsify the mixture*
    8. Pour into bottle and store in your refrigerator
    * If the rum cream is just stirred it will separate. If it does this then just shake vigorously and serve.
    Happy & Safe Travels!

my local liquor stores carry rum cream by cruzan. it's not quite as good as the sangsters, but it is still good and you don't have to go through the trouble of making it yourself.

Default This only take 30 min to make...So simple!

Here is a recipe for Rum Cream that I have made. It is very close to Sangster's and it only takes 30 min to make including prep time. I have formulated this recipe after many batches and modifying it each time. This is not for the diet watchers. Enjoy.

1 Can Sweetened Condensed Milk (14 oz.)
    1 Cup Heavy Cream
1 ½ Cup Appleton Dark Rum (Appleton has that special flavor needed)

    1 oz Dark Caramel Syrup
½ oz Gourmet Chocolate (I used Ghirardelli)
6 tsp Blue Mountain fresh ground coffee (this gives it the authentic flavor)

    2 tsp Vanilla Extract
1 tsp Goldschläger Liqueur (for a light cinnamon flavor)

    1. Put coffee into a coffee press and add the rum. Soak the coffee and rum until Step 7.
    2. Put cream in a pot and bring to a simmer
    3. Add the chocolate to the cream and stir until completely melted
    4. Remove the pot from the heat source
    5. Add the sweetened condensed milk, vanilla, and caramel to the pot
    6. Stir until completely combined
    7. Add the rum and Goldschlager and stir
    8. Using a hand or stick blender, blend for two minutes to emulsify the mixture
    9. Pour into bottle and store in your refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

All items should be able to be bought at local stores. (at least here in the US)
