    Default Review for April 4th - 11th

We stayed at Couples Swept Away from April 4th - April 11th, 2010. All I can say is I wish I was still there. This was our second trip to Jamaica and first Couples Experience. Our entire week was excellent. The staff is exceptional!! Will try to keep this as short as I can while bragging about our week!

We arrived in Montego Bay Airport and after getting through customs (this took awhile) we were happy to be poured our Red Stripe at the Couples Lounge. Our bags were tagged and we were on our way to the resort within 15 minutes. Our driver was wonderful to the hotel his name was Omar and after a brief stop for a beer on the way we arrived in about 1 1/2 hours.

Upon arrival to the resort we checked in - smooth and quick with champagne and towels and were escorted to our room. We had booked the Beachfront Verandah Suite and we were in room 3324.

Our room had the most amazing view, white linens and flat screen TV. It was actually the most comfortable bed I have ever had in any resort. Air conditioning was extremely cold and verandah was huge and I enjoyed my coffee there every morning. Water was hot, pressure was good and all was well. About the only thing (and mine you this was for the entire stay) was the fixture in the shower was not working 100% properly BUT it was a minor thing. Everything else was so perfect it was easy to forget about it.

Room Service every day was right on time. Coffee, fruit and croissants to our room everyday. Housekeeping staff was great and timed perfect for us everyday and night. Never missed and never bother us! Mini bar was stocked daily.

The grounds were spectacular! All well manicured and very clean. Hats off to the crews keeping this place up, a huge area to cover.

    Restaurants

Breakfast - Patois - Best stuffed french toast ever! Banana stuffed with good syrup. Awesome! The buffet was great too we did that 6 out of 7 days, always well stocked and loved the breakfast Pizza.

Lunch - We loved Seagrapes with the ease of getting in and out and healthy selection. Sweet potato chips were great as were the roasted vegetable. Patois for lunch was great too, service was always top notch and great selection and menu changes daily. Don't forget to get the pizza!!

    Dinner -
We had Feathers for two nights and the filet was wonderful. One night I couldn't decide (our last night) between the shrimp and filet and my wonderful waitress brought me the filet with shrimp! That was great. We also love the Chef's Amuse every night too. Nice surprise for us.

We had Lemongrass for two nights too. Both nights we had wonderful meals and service. My husband had the vegetarian meal and I had the beef one night spicy and the chicken, both were wonderful.

Patois we ate at 3 nights and loved it every time. The menu changes and it was nice to be able to go whenever you want. They also had a 3 piece band playing and that was very entertaining.

The portions were plenty at all the restaurants and I have to say all the food was beyond all expectations. We did not have a bad meal or complaint in 7 days. How many all inclusives can you go to and say that.

Probably the only thing we would say would be a better wine for the house wine but that would be it.

The fitness center was beautiful and amazing although I have to confess we just visited - but lots of people were working out every day.

On to my reason for my vacation, THE BEACH!!! All I can say is WOW! okay one more time WOW! This was hands down best beach and swimming area we have ever been to! Wide, clean and raked every day. Plenty of chairs for each person, you may have to move them but wonderful. And let us not forget the floaties. The swimming area is huge and if you can find seaweed you are doing something. It was truly amazing.

Hats off too the beach staff with my prompt green flag everyday! Too my friends Cardo and Colleen at the beach bar, thanks for the stories and cocktails. You will be remembered for years to come.

Cat cruise was great and swimming in the caves was wonderful. The people of Jamaica are truly amazing. Shells, Cigs are sold on the beach but a polite no thank you and they are on there way. We walked way down the beach daily and Margaritaville is literally a 5 minute walk from the resort.

Hats off to the entire staff of Couples Swept Away for a job Well Done! Thank you for making my trip that I wait all year for, worth the wait. We will be back soon.

If you are thinking of booking this resort, don't hesitate - Just do it. Any questions feel free to let me know I would be happy to answer.

Thanks for a great review! We're there, in BFVS as well, in July for our 10th anniversary. Did you have any problems getting the reservations you wanted? Catamaran or restaurant?
Did you like being on the third floor? I'm thinking first floor for access to the beach, but interested in finding out more.

Do they still serve that great Chilean white wine at Feathers? I can't remember the name of it but I would always request it and it was delicious. Crisp and cold.

Lcn2chl, Glad you enjoyed! We were there April 1st - the 8th w/2 of our BFFs (friends for 25+ years) and we had the time of our lives. This was our 7th trip to CSA and their 1st to JA & CSA. It was so cool to spend quality time as well as see JA through their newbie eyes... Great review btw!!! Razzl

Great review. We were there from 4-8 through 4-17 and got married on 4-12. Awesome resort. This was our first time there and certainly will not be our last.

The white Wine was cold and awesome at Feathers... We loved the 3rd floor room it was great. I was really torn between the 1st and 3rd and was going to be happy with either. Was glad that I got the 3rd floor as it was an awesome view and the first floor is close to all the action.

We are already thinking next year and because we don't think we can top this resort, I feel a repeat coming on! We have friends who want to go with us next year and have never been to Jamaica - why change. Altho I have thought about Tower Isle but I am unsure of the beach after this trip! The beach can't be beat!

oh forgot - You can make reservations 3 days in advance so that is what we did. So we were able to get to both feathers and lemongrass. The Cat cruise we booked the day we arrived for the Friday (we got there on Sunday). So we had no problem getting anything but it was because I followed what I researched with the great people here.

It truly pays to be on top of your vacation and listen to the experienced people on this site Thank you for all the help!

I must say my tan is fading but my memories never will...

    Lcn2Chl,

Great review!! We were there 4/7-4/14. We've been to both CSA, now, and CTI as well as CSS. If you love the spacious beach of CSA you won't appreciate the small beach of CTI. Also the resort is a "high rise" on a small property instead of being spread out like CSA. We like to go to a place where there's room to roam. CTI doesn't have that. We felt trapped! Just thought we'd give you that heads-up. If you want to see some pics of CTI just let us know.

I agree with Bart and Bug... we went to CTI when it was still Ocho Rios before the remodeling and we enjoyed it but it was small. We met a lot more people while we are there but to be honest I am not really there to meet people. I am ther efor alone time with my husband. Now that we have been to CSA I don't see us going back to CTI. I think we would be disappointed and one big reason is we loved getting up in the morning and tunning the beach and we can't do that at CTI. Also the huts on the beach are a big seller for us.
