Thread: HELP!!!! In need of suggestions for what to do after the wedding

Hello fellow Couples brides! I am writing in need of advice. We are expecting 40-50 guests. 35 have confirmed. I do not want to pay for a private dinner being that this is an all-inclusive resort. Does anyone have suggestions on how I can accommodate my guests to ensure a great time but not pay extra for the private dinner. I chose a destination wedding to cut costs and I can not afford to pay extra.

I am in the exact situation. I have decided to go with a cocktail party after the ceremony with a mento band. If that is not in your budget, I believe there is an option to reserve part of one of the restaurants at no extra cost but you wouldn't get to choose the menu (it would be pre-set). You should definitely contact the wedding planner about this. That's what I plan to do after the cocktail and mento band. Half of my guests are off property (unfortunately) so I am paying for an half day pass which includes one meal.

I did not have near as many guests at my wedding, but what we did was everyone put on their swimsuits and hung out at the beach and pool bar between the ceremony and dinner. I think it was the best reception I've ever been to.....LOL. =)

What day and time is ur wedding? I'm getting married at sunset on a friday and that is when they have the beach party. So instead of paying for a reception we can all eat together at the beach party b/c they have round table setups that seat 10...just like a reception! After that we will head to the club onsite and party!!!!

You guys have just saved me from major panic!!
i have booked our sunset wedding for the 18th december 2010 which is a friday,i have just been informed that we will not be able to have our private beach reception party as planned due to the beach party,we dont want to have a indoor reception in one of the function rooms,and as there are around 26-30 of us im not sure one of the restaurants will be able to accomodate us,my only hope is crashing the beach party,would they be able to accomodate us? help!!

Jacq - With that many, you will probably want to send a couple of people from your wedding party to the Beach Party early and reserve some chairs. It is 1st come 1st serve.

There is some good info here, We are getting married at CTI in feb 2011. Because there are children, we wanted to go to a near by bar for some drinks after the wedding, as we can't stay on site with the children. Any suggestions for a near by bar on the beach? Thanks!

yeah i think normas at seasplash looks great..you can reserve the 2nd floor of the restaurant..great view..good food so im told

I also have a group of about 50. I have my ceremony planned for noon on a Saturday (June 12); after the ceremony, we're going to the garden to sign the certificate, have the champagne toast & cake. Then, while we do our photos (with Stacey Clarke!), the group will be escorted to the pool bar for drinks. After photos, we'll all be meeting up for lunch at Cassava Terrace. I then also made us reservations for the 4pm Catamaran Cruise

Can you make reservations for the Cat Cruise before you get there? We are planning the same thing. Our wedding is in April at 11 am, we booked Stacey too. I'm soo excited.
