Clovett Anderson, known around Couples Negril as Downa, has been a gardener at the resort for nearly three years. Her day-to-day activities include maintaining indoor gardens, outdoor grounds areas and propagating plants in the green house. Clovett enjoys the opportunity to interact with resort guests and speak Patois for them. In her free time, she likes to listen to Reggae D.J., Black Rino and watch “Without a Trace.” Originally from Top Road Little London, Jamaica, Clovett now resides in Saw-anna-la-mar and her favorite place to visit outside Jamaica is Miami.
Matthew Christopher Braithwaite - Couples
Tower Isle
Matthew Christopher Braithwaite, who typically goes by Mateo, is the social director at Couples Tower Isle. Although he just started when the renovated property opened earlier this year, Mateo has already made a great impact on the staff and guests at Couples Tower Isle. Mateo loves meeting new people and learning about the many aspects of the hotel industry. His main responsibilities at Couples Tower Isle are helping to entertain guests and making sure that all of their needs are met. Mateo enjoys the challenge of resolving issues that come up with guests at the resort, and in his free time he loves to train at the gym, write, read and draw. If Mateo could have dinner with anyone in the world, he said it would be his whole family, to show them that he appreciates everything they have taught him and that nothing was forgotten or taken for granted.
Dennis Fowler
- Couples Sans Souci
Dennis Fowler is a 22 year-old water sports instructor at Couples Sans Souci. Better known as Rashiel, he has been an instructor in the water sports department at Couples Sans Souci for two years. One reason Rashiel is proud to work at Couples Sans Souci is the resort’s recent completion of the Scuba Dive Master program. In the future, Rashiel is interested in taking the Instructor Development Course (IDC) to become a staff scuba instructor. His most memorable experience at Couples Sans Souci was seeing 10 dolphins while taking guests scuba diving. One of Rashiel’s favorite events to attend is the Diving Equipment and Marketing Association (DEMA) Dive Show. When not instructing water sports, Rashiel enjoys reading and playing soccer. His favorite food is rice and peas with steamed fish.
Ardell White
- Couples Swept Away
Guests will typically find Ardell White on the tennis courts at Couples Swept Away. As the racquet pro, for the last five years Ardell has been teaching guests how to play tennis, racquetball and squash. Ardell says his favorite part of his job is having the privilege of meeting international tennis pros and interacting with a variety of resort guests. Ardell loves when past guests return to the resort and request him as an instructor. Ardell prides himself on his ability teach guests and maintain their interest in the game. When not at work, Ardell enjoys reading and listening to Bob Marley. If given the chance to have dinner with anyone in the world, Ardell said he would choose Barack Obama since he is the first black president.
