10 Most Romantic Valentine's Day Gifts

Hi Couples family,

Welcome to February, the month of love, and the month that is entirely devoted (in my mind at least) to YOU, to couples who love love and who love romance. This month I will be sharing various posts to help keep the Valentine's Day spirit alive and well all year long.

We're just under two weeks until Valentine's Day and I have received a few emails from guests wondering if I had any good gift ideas this year. So, I have decided to write out my Top 10 Romantic Valentine's Day Gift Ideas below:

1. Write him or her a love letter and put it in the mail. Even if you live together, the gesture of sending a love letter in this day in age where technology tends to trump tradition, they will be amazed by your thoughtfulness and creativity.

2. Recreate your first date or most memorable date at home. Get the decor, menu and ambiance of your special date and recreate it in a romantic setting at home. This way you will avoid the holiday restaurant rush and have more time and energy to focus on one another.

3. Give the gift of time. Plan the entire day with the goal to recreate fond memories you two have shared. Whether you are exploring new date spots or visiting the tried and true, make each moment count as you spend the day hand-in-hand with the one you love.

4. Are you tech savvy? Utilize your talents and create a photo or video slideshow to share with your Valentine that showcases all of the romantic and fun adventures you have shared over the year or since you started to date. It will be a great way to catalogue your life together, and could be a great tradition to recreate year after year.

5. Don't know what to get the Valentine that has everything, including a giving heart? Donate to his or her favorite charity in their name for a thoughtful and romantic gift sure to please.

6. Nothing says "I love you" quite like something new that pushes you outside of your comfort zone. Pick up a new hobby and wow your Valentine this year. Does she usually do the cooking? Take over the job and surprise her with a home-cooked meal. Set the table with candles, create a beautiful centerpiece with her favorite flowers and pour her a nice large glass of wine as she relaxes and watches or chooses to join you as a sous chef.

7. Does your love have a hobby or passion they are always talking about but don't have the time to go do? Valentine's Day is the day! If your man loves to golf and hasn't been out to swing the clubs in months, book a tee time! Does she have a passion for being pampered? Surprise her with a day at the spa.

8. Have your wedding vows framed and let them know that although it's Valentine's Day, every day with them is the most romantic and special day of the year.

9. Share the love. Brainstorm ways in which you can give back this Valentine's Day and volunteer at a local charity or spend time cleaning out your closets for an early spring cleaning session. Love can be much bigger than the two of you when you open it up to others in need.

10. Give the gift of a romantic getaway that is all about reconnecting and rejuvenating your relationship. The Couples Resorts Message in a Bottle is the perfect way to say "I love you and want to spend more time with you, just us". A trip to Couples is a sure-fire way to show your Valentine just how much you value your time together, especially when spent in paradise.

Carrie
