Playing = Staying Part 3: Couples Negril Game Room

Hello again, Couples family... I'm back this week to talk about various ways we can enhance our relationships in our current series, "Playing = Staying", where Couples who play together, stay together. Over the past few weeks we have explored the adventures of Dunn's River Falls and the water trampoline at Couples Tower Isle, and this week, we are going to take a look at the game room and surrounding area at the beautiful Couples Negril. Whenever Bryan and I are on vacation, we make it a point to walk the grounds and explore as much as we can on the first day, so we can map out all the things we'd like to do while on-property. At Couples Negril, we were greeted in the lobby, taken to our room, then put on our suits and cover ups (I did, at least... he just put on a t-shirt) then enjoyed a leisurely walk around the grounds, hand in hand. The second we saw this ping pong table, we looked right at each other, smiled, and immediately ran over to grab the paddles. Have I mentioned before that Bryan and I are competitive when it comes to sports? Two passionate athletes in a relationship make for heated miniature golf competitions, bowling dates, and especially, ping pong matches. Now, we know that it's "just a game", but we find that the competition is a fun way for us to flirt and irritate one another... Who ever thought that that would be a good thing for a relationship? It works for us, at least, but more about that some other time... I digress. On to the competition... I actually beat Bryan the first round, despite being the usual underdog. So, naturally, we had to have a re-match immediately following which he was able to sneak out a "W". There we were, tied. Unfortunately, the weather had other plans for our tie-breaker so we had to call it. I was certainly a happy camper with a tie as we headed in to the Game Room.

If there is one game that I am consistently awful at, it is billiards. I'm not sure why it's never quite caught on with my hand-eye coordination, but I take what I can get. Regardless, I love the game. I love how sometimes I can hit the white ball (ahem, cue ball) as hard as I can, and miraculously, another ball goes in! (I never specified whether it was my designated ball, but you get the idea). Bryan set the stage by getting the balls ready for the break, which I attempted, and was wildly unsuccessful. Take two. Bryan steps up for the shot, and three solids go it. Go figure! Needless to say, our game was quite short, but I love seeing his poise and confidence while doing most things, and this instance playing pool was no exception, even though he did win.

Does anyone know what this game below is called? I love the bright colors but honestly have NO idea how to play. Any advice/guidance would be greatly appreciated so we can play on our next visit!

All in all, the Couples Negril game room was a lot of fun, and we look forward to going back again during our next visit. In the meantime, you can find me privately brushing up on my pool and ping pong skills (shh, don't tell Bryan!). I'd like to know... what games do you and you love enjoy playing on vacation or at home? Until next week!

One love,

Carrie
