Playing = Staying Part 4: Fun on the Home Front

Hi Couples family, This week we are wrapping up this series looking at how being active and enjoying each other with activities helps with couples' staying power. During the series we have looked at Dunn's River Falls, the Couples Negril game room, and the water trampoline at Couples Tower Isle. For the last installment of this series, we will take look at the ways you can continue the fun and adventure of Couples and Jamaica once you're back home. I don't know about you, but I am a homebody and I absolutely love hanging out in my city (albeit, daydreaming of our other "home" in Jamaica)... I may be one of the few people who actually still lives in the city where I grew up, and I wouldn't have it any other way. My husband Bryan actually grew up here in San Diego as well, so we have a lot of fun getting to explore our city again and again in new ways. One of our absolute favorite things to do on weekends is to do what we call "bike & brunch". We wake up on Saturday, have a lazy morning, then grab our bikes and stake out a new or family-favorite brunch spot to post up for an hour or two. We especially love to bike along the 101 and test out all the various brunch spots along the coast. Naturally, no brunch is complete without a mimosa or Bloody Mary. I am the mimosa fan, while he enjoys a meal for a beverage before his brunch. (I kid.) We love trying new menu items and spending quality time with one another as we get out, get fresh air, and get a belly full of brunch to kick off the weekend. To us, it is perfect and a wonderful time to recharge and have some one-on-one time.

Another activity we enjoy doing together is snowboarding. I am nowhere near as talented as Bryan, but we have fun getting outside in the cold, brisk air and gladly taking in the beauty of the snow and mountainous landscape. Since we live in San Diego, snowboarding also means a ROAD TRIP, aka, great tunes, road games, and long talks about love and life and the future.

While we wish we could "play" in Jamaica all day every day, we do our best to maintain a playful, adventurous day-to-day on our home turf to help keep the spark alive and well. What is you and your love's favorite way to "play" in your city or town? Would love to hear about it in the comments section below! One love, Carrie
